Yukihiro Atsumi (thirdiq/origami).. thirdiq is the solo project of Japanese guitarist/producer, Yukihiro Atsumi. Yukihiro mainly works in the field of JAZZ, FUNK, R&B, SOUL,HIPHOP, HOUSE, AMBIENT. Before starting thirdiq, he has worked with various big names such as ANANDA PROJECT, Shuya Okino, TEI TOWA, Yu Sakai, DJ Yutaka,DJ KAWASAKI,Hanah,Hiroki Kashiwagi as producer,guitarist. He also belongs to the band called JAMNUTS which is a project of Top 30 professional players in Tokyo.They released 1st album “Nu JAM” in 2007.Yokihiro produced 3 songs in this album. Especially,the fresh arranges of the classic hits caught attention of BBC radio in UK which heavily rotated “Hey Ya!”.(Cover of Outkast)The 1st album "monologue" as thirdiq is improvisational Jazz/soul/Hip Hop album.All songs were improvised and recorded in a single take.After that, he chop and sampling that and he created new sounds that anybody have never heard before.The songs of the album was used for documentary movie "The Cleanest Line" that ran after Living legend surfer Gerry Lopes's lifestyles. In 2009, he provided the songs for the movie named “lushlife”(Original novelist: Kotaro Isaka)and released the 2nd album “who may find love in the imaginary axis” including the movie's songs.It’s released in Japan,France and DJ Benji B played the song on BBC 1xtra(UK). Also, he started monthly CD project named “laidbook” with mabanua(Dr), Shingo Suzuki (B) and 45 aka SWING-O(Key). They release art book CD every month with art creator (DRAGON,GLOWZ,TKO,Helllvetic). DESTINATION MAGAZINE (DM): Mr., Atsumi, can you tell me your career so far? .... Atsumi(A): I joined works of Bird, Jumpei Shina, DJ KAWASAKI, Flower Records from Little Big Bee and so on, and besides, I took part in Japan tour of Ananda Project and session recordings as a guitarist. And a project called JAMNUTS was a opportunity my sound produce started, Then, song offer to the documentary movie of a suffer Gerry Lopez gave me a chance to release the 1st album, and through the song writing and sound produce to the indies debut album of HANAH, I released the 2nd album. A song from 2nd album was used for the movie ”Rush Life”. .... DM: When did you start your career as a guitarist? .... A: I started guitar around 16 years old, but I started playing it as a job around 18 years old in small shops. Around twenty-one, I joined a work of Bird for the first time. Since then I have been into the world of music in earnest. .... DM: Can you tell me how your started the project called “thirdiq” and origin of the name? .... A: It is a coinage, but I wanted make sound of name which is not likely to be used and make a clue of imaginations for listeners. My music is completed by imaginations of listeners. In this meaning, I want them imagine what meaning this is. I dare not to say meaning. The clue of this project is my experience. Around 25 years old, I was hanging on as a session player, but it did not go well and I started notice my music characters. I thought there is no place I can express myself unless I make it by my self. And at that time, I got offer of Gerry Lopez movie. It thought it is kind of heaven’s voice, and I began that project, I found my way by unexpected opportunity. Everything is flow. I don’t resist to the flow and this is the result of that I came along with the natural flow. .... DM: Before or after 2003, I knew the member of club jazz band Harlem and I did some event with them at the Mix. I think you sometimes supported that band, didn’t you? In 2005 at Kichijohji Star Pines, you participated the live as a member of Halem, and when I played “Brazin” song of DJ KAWASAKI as a DJ, you told me “Thank you for playing, I made this track.”. It was the first time I talked with you. I still remember it. Do you remember it? .... A: Is “Brazin” in 2005? I remember it. I can’t believe it is so long time ago. Lately, I feel a month is a year. It is because my life is fulfilling and good. But a month ago is the so distant past. I am happy but I am so busy every month because of the production of “laid book”. .... DM: You released 2nd album “who may find love in the imaginary axis” Sep. 17th. For this album Mito from Clumbon says “how beautiful album. It is too precious to spend in breath”. I thought this album is filled by your passion to the music and great work too. Can you tell me the origin of the name of album and concept of this album? .... A: I release the 1st in the end of before last year, and there was just one and half month to start 2nd production, in the 1st, I remitted all of my musical input I had pilled up so far, so I did not have any input and I did not know what kind of music I want to do. But dead line was fixed and I was thinking what I could do in this situation. It was the start line of the production. At that time, I noticed “I was doing music only in the music” for the first time. For instance, otherwise an aspect of musician, singers of lyric writers has an aspect of a person. They gather their experience or feelings to the lyrics as a person and derive to the music with music as tool. It is natural approach, but musicians using instruments think: this phrase is cool, this sound is fashionable, and the like. At least I was thinking like that. Because I could start making music without any inputs, I noticed to express my feeling or experience as a person and make them to my work with music as tool. Then, I thought the theme of my output when I tried the output with music. But for the instrumental music, “natural” is too plain theme. I wanted to set the theme that is common but very difficult one. So I set this album theme “love”. Love song is ordinary but worth to challenge. Vice versa, I feel they make love song too simple, and I want to tell ”I think love song is not so simple”, and I dare to challenge it. I tried to express “love” in 12 songs lineup with using music. The title “who may find lobe in the imaginary axis” is “an imaginary view” in short. Heart or feeling is invisible but we have actual feeling. “Imaginary axis” does never exist in real, but it exists in theory. I made the world of imaginary axis fall on an imaginary view, where is the point of love in invisible world. There are innumerable points, and position or place of heart. I wanted to express them by this title. .... DM: The 2nd song “To Zion” is cover of Laurin Hill. This is impressive one among quiet tracks. Vocal by Maru is matched and brilliant. Why did you cover this track? A: To tell the truth, I was not thinking to cover this song. Originally, I was thinking to do session with my 3 bars loop, but in this session, Maru sang “To Zion” with 4 bars arrange. It was interesting, and I thought what arrange is possible to finish this song until the end. I started making arrange and it is episode that this song is covered in this album. Then, this is a thought since I’ve been in JAMNUTS, but I think it is meaningless to cover the song, if I cannot shed light on the competed beautiful song from the new perspective. So I dared to make like that. .... DM: In this album, there are illusory tracks called “220 cures” and “284 cures”. I could imagine you are playing the groove quietly and I think this track express your image the most. What do those titles mean? .... A: I also think “220 cures” expresses core part of me more, and wan to recommend this track. But actually, those two songs are come from one session. Originally, thirdiq is making music by expanding the idea of short loops freely and trying to extract genuine musician ship. But this session was brilliant. Actually I was thinking to process this session in some ways, but I did not want to add something to this session. However, it would be more than 10 minutes song and it takes a lot of time to make sense good points of this song. So I cut this session at the half. Then it was well -united. “220” is not arranged from the session, and I added acoustic guitar to “284” with listening recorded take to make it sound like triple rhythm. I tried not to sound completely same as “220”. Because those songs are from one flow of session, I named same title and just changed number. I came up with this title when I considering how I name it by relating to the song. 220 and 284 is “amicable number”. It is the number that “two different numbers so related that the sum of the proper divisors of one of the numbers is equal to the other.”. Now, there are only two numbers have such relationship and are simplistic. I thought that mysterious relationship match to the song and quoted the number. Then I felt my heart was being purified and relieved by this song during recording and I named it “Cures”. Mito from Clambon told me he likes it. .... DM: In this album, sensational singer “HANAH”, “Yu Sakai”, trumpeter “Sinpei Ruike”from Nariyoshi Kikuchi Dub sextet, label mate of origami PRODUCTION “Shingo Suzuki”, and so on are participated. How did you meet them and tell me your impression. .... A: I simply like HANAH's voice, and very match to my songs. it fits nicely as my feeling and I feel it’s strange destiny. Members in this album were from JAMNUS or had been playing sessions before JAMNUTS together. They are old friends. I was acting with Yu as Duo several years ago, and I joined his band. I wanted him sing my song. When I started production of 2nd album, there was a song called “lovers fiction” which I wanted Yu sings. I’m glad to release the song this time. She has gap between looks and beauty of voice. I think I am attracted her feminine but strong voice, I feel my dream came true this time. Besides the lyrics of the song is written by HANAH. Ruike participated my 1st album too. I like sound of his trumpet so much and I feel his vie of the world is close to me. He is not like typical trumpeter and I feel his sound is like “one layer inside of skin”. I feel it is close to me and feel sympathy. I had known him before he joined “urb”, so it’s long time. There was event called “Sofa” at The Room, and I did session there. So I knew most of the members of thirdiq. I really respect Shingo Suzuki. He is great as a player, of course, and his view of the world for the mix is world class. I learn a lot of things from him and feel happy he is label mate. .... DM: Can you tell me any songs you have special feeling or secret episode of production? .... A: For “letters” I wanted to express imaginary short movie by music, so I tried to make it like movie expressed only by music. I recorded whole one session and I felt I couldn’t play better than that. And “breath” is introduction to the world of this album. As well as live performance, I like the feeling to be into the world of music at the moment of the sound. I wanted to do the same thing in this album, and I had decided to set this song the first of this album. Especially, I want you listen the part of that chorus work starts. “mood” is also included in compilation of origami before. It is also recorded by one session and I put in the album without any change because I thought it is impossible to arrange anymore. In total more songs are not arranged than 1st album and released without any change. I was thinking to express what is made only by recording and mysterious mood that listeners do not know weather it is reality or not. And I don’t know why but those are expressed without any edit. Because I don’t want those songs are blurred by adding surplus, so more songs are not arranged or edited. .... DM: What is your root of music? Can you tell me if you have particular artists and albums you were influenced? .... A: When I thought I play music as a job, I was influenced by JAZZ like John Coltrane, and I reached to Miles Davis. He is great not only as a trumpeter but as a producer. I like such view of the world. And I feel Gagaku is one of my roots. It is called ancient orchestra in the world. It was born in China, came to Japan, and still remains now. It concerns to TRANCE or ROCK in true meaning. And of course BLACK MUSIC I played session with friends in Shibuya influenced me. In addition I like local music like Brazilian, African, and the like. I like the sound has ethnic tastes. I think I took long time to take that music into my body and accustom myself to them. Now I feel I finally can unite those music taken into my body and express as a color or taste of my music. If I think so, may be there are no roots of music for me. .... DM: When I’m listening this album, you are indifferent to the trend in the music scene or what is sensational now, and you are not confused by information and just face to your music too keep making good music. Probably, a lot of people will be listening this album ten years later. How is your feeling and what are you thinking when you make sound? .... A: It is the process to dig up sound touches my heart. And I want to make what the flow never stops. For instance, when I making ensemble with four instruments, each of them is doing different things, but they never crush and disturb the other. Even each of them are diverse, I try to make the flow lasts to the end. Besides, I am trying not to make music from music. I make a song by throwing away my part of guitarist. In other word, music or song is just a tool of myself as a human. I wonder how I can make sound from one feeling or impulse. I embody my motif from that. It is my style of production now. .... DM: origami PRODUCTION is one of the labels I am checking and expecting the most. How do you feel to this label? .... A: By watching people around me, I feel it is difficult to express what they really want. But this label told me “please make what really you want”, and it let me think what I really want to express for the first time. For myself, I have been listening great artist works and saving into my body, but it is rude to imitate those music entirely and actually I want to alter those benefit I have been given from those grand artists to new music. So this label is where I can achieve it. Vice versa, if I can’t do that, I am meaningless to make music. In this meaning, origami PRODUCTION gave me a chance to make what I’m really satisfied. That’s good point of this label. .... DM: Then, as thirdiq, please tell me next activities and what you want to do next .... A: To begin with thirdiq, I have some aims. One is Europe tour and the other is movie music. Fortunately, I could work for movie music on my album production, so I want to proceed it more. And this is project to do something interesting that is possible only by composition rather show the performance in live houses. Therefore, in the lice, I want to reconstruct compositions and show what they can see from different perspective only by live. .... DM: Please give message to readers and your funs. .... A: Based on ideas I talked so far, if you come to my live and listen my works, we can share some new thing in different points and let you enjoy what I cherish. So please listen my work. .... 2003年BIRDのライブギタリストとして活躍、そのプレイが評判になり以後、沖野修也、テイ・トウワ、さかいゆう、DJ YUTAKA、DJ KAWASAKI、Hanah、柏木広樹など様々なアーティス トのプロデュース、レコーディング、LIVEギタリストとして活躍。2005年にはANANDA PROJECTのJAPANツアーに唯一の日本人として参加。 2006年メンバー30人を超える渋谷のJAM集団JAMNUTSに参加、サウンド・プロデュース、アレンジも担当。中でもOUTKASTの「Hey Ya!」をローズ使いのメロウチューンに激変さ せた渥美幸裕のアレンジは英BBCラジオでもOAされるなど各方面で絶賛される。2007年自身のプロジェクトthirdiq(サーディック)の1stアルバムmonologueをリリース。ほぼ1発即興レコーディングという驚異の手法でレコーディングされた音源に大胆なチョップやサンプリングを施した唯一無二のサウンドが話題に。同アルバムの楽曲はリビングレジェンド・サーファー、ジェリー・ロペスのライフスタイルを追いかけたドキュメンタリー映画「The Cleanest Line」に使用された。2009年には作家伊坂幸太郎原作の映画「ラッ シュライフ」の音楽を担当するなど多方面で活躍。2009年9月、同映画に使用された楽曲を含む2ndアルバム[who may find love in the imaginary > axis]をリリース、日本のみならずフランスやインドネシアなどでリリース、イギリスBBC ラジオ1xtraでDJ Benji Bも楽曲をOA。また2009年レーベルメイトのmabanua(ド > ラム)、Shingo Suzuki(ベース)、45 a.k.a. SWING-O(キーボード)と共に月刊でアルバムをリリースするプロジェクトlaidbookをスタート、1つのテーマに沿ってセッションを繰り広げアートと音楽を融合させたソングブックを毎月リリースし続けるという前代未聞の試みが各所で話題となっている。
Yukihiro Atsumi (thirdiq/origami)
thirdiq is the solo project of Japanese guitarist/producer, Yukihiro Atsumi. Yukihiro mainly works in the field of JAZZ, FUNK, R&B, SOUL,HIPHOP, HOUSE, AMBIENT. Before starting thirdiq, he has worked with various big names such as ANANDA PROJECT, Shuya Okino, TEI TOWA, Yu Sakai, DJ Yutaka,DJ KAWASAKI,Hanah,Hiroki Kashiwagi as producer,guitarist. He also belongs to the band called JAMNUTS which is a project of Top 30 professional players in Tokyo.They released 1st album “Nu JAM” in 2007.Yokihiro produced 3 songs in this album. Especially,the fresh arranges of the classic hits caught attention of BBC radio in UK which heavily rotated “Hey Ya!”.(Cover of Outkast)The 1st album "monologue" as thirdiq is improvisational Jazz/soul/Hip Hop album.All songs were improvised and recorded in a single take.After that, he chop and sampling that and he created new sounds that anybody have never heard before.The songs of the album was used for documentary movie "The Cleanest Line" that ran after Living legend surfer Gerry Lopes's lifestyles. In 2009, he provided the songs for the movie named “lushlife”(Original novelist: Kotaro Isaka)and released the 2nd album “who may find love in the imaginary axis” including the movie's songs.It’s released in Japan,France and DJ Benji B played the song on BBC 1xtra(UK). Also, he started monthly CD project named “laidbook” with mabanua(Dr), Shingo Suzuki (B) and 45 aka SWING-O(Key). They release art book CD every month with art creator (DRAGON,GLOWZ,TKO,Helllvetic). They decide 1 theme and create songs and art cards.This unprecedented project gets into the news all over the world.

DESTINATION MAGAZINE (DM): Mr., Atsumi, can you tell me your career so far?

Atsumi(A): I joined works of Bird, Jumpei Shina, DJ KAWASAKI, Flower Records from Little Big Bee and so on, and besides, I took part in Japan tour of Ananda Project and session recordings as a guitarist. And a project called JAMNUTS was a opportunity my sound produce started, Then, song offer to the documentary movie of a suffer Gerry Lopez gave me a chance to release the 1st album, and through the song writing and sound produce to the indies debut album of HANAH, I released the 2nd album. A song from 2nd album was used for the movie ”Rush Life”.

DM: When did you start your career as a guitarist?

A: I started guitar around 16 years old, but I started playing it as a job around 18 years old in small shops. Around twenty-one, I joined a work of Bird for the first time. Since then I have been into the world of music in earnest.

DM: Can you tell me how your started the project called “thirdiq” and origin of the name?

A: It is a coinage, but I wanted make sound of name which is not likely to be used and make a clue of imaginations for listeners. My music is completed by imaginations of listeners. In this meaning, I want them imagine what meaning this is. I dare not to say meaning. The clue of this project is my experience. Around 25 years old, I was hanging on as a session player, but it did not go well and I started notice my music characters. I thought there is no place I can express myself unless I make it by my self. And at that time, I got offer of Gerry Lopez movie. It thought it is kind of heaven’s voice, and I began that project, I found my way by unexpected opportunity. Everything is flow. I don’t resist to the flow and this is the result of that I came along with the natural flow.

DM: Before or after 2003, I knew the member of club jazz band Harlem and I did some event with them at the Mix. I think you sometimes supported that band, didn’t you? In 2005 at Kichijohji Star Pines, you participated the live as a member of Halem, and when I played “Brazin” song of DJ KAWASAKI as a DJ, you told me “Thank you for playing, I made this track.”. It was the first time I talked with you. I still remember it. Do you remember it?

A: Is “Brazin” in 2005? I remember it. I can’t believe it is so long time ago. Lately, I feel a month is a year. It is because my life is fulfilling and good. But a month ago is the so distant past. I am happy but I am so busy every month because of the production of “laid book”.

DM: You released 2nd album “who may find love in the imaginary axis” Sep. 17th. For this album Mito from Clumbon says “how beautiful album. It is too precious to spend in breath”. I thought this album is filled by your passion to the music and great work too. Can you tell me the origin of the name of album and concept of this album?

A: I release the 1st in the end of before last year, and there was just one and half month to start 2nd production, in the 1st, I remitted all of my musical input I had pilled up so far, so I did not have any input and I did not know what kind of music I want to do. But dead line was fixed and I was thinking what I could do in this situation. It was the start line of the production. At that time, I noticed “I was doing music only in the music” for the first time. For instance, otherwise an aspect of musician, singers of lyric writers has an aspect of a person. They gather their experience or feelings to the lyrics as a person and derive to the music with music as tool. It is natural approach, but musicians using instruments think: this phrase is cool, this sound is fashionable, and the like. At least I was thinking like that. Because I could start making music without any inputs, I noticed to express my feeling or experience as a person and make them to my work with music as tool. Then, I thought the theme of my output when I tried the output with music. But for the instrumental music, “natural” is too plain theme. I wanted to set the theme that is common but very difficult one. So I set this album theme “love”. Love song is ordinary but worth to challenge. Vice versa, I feel they make love song too simple, and I want to tell ”I think love song is not so simple”, and I dare to challenge it. I tried to express “love” in 12 songs lineup with using music. The title “who may find lobe in the imaginary axis” is “an imaginary view” in short. Heart or feeling is invisible but we have actual feeling. “Imaginary axis” does never exist in real, but it exists in theory. I made the world of imaginary axis fall on an imaginary view, where is the point of love in invisible world. There are innumerable points, and position or place of heart. I wanted to express them by this title.

DM: The 2nd song “To Zion” is cover of Laurin Hill. This is impressive one among quiet tracks. Vocal by Maru is matched and brilliant. Why did you cover this track? A: To tell the truth, I was not thinking to cover this song. Originally, I was thinking to do session with my 3 bars loop, but in this session, Maru sang “To Zion” with 4 bars arrange. It was interesting, and I thought what arrange is possible to finish this song until the end. I started making arrange and it is episode that this song is covered in this album. Then, this is a thought since I’ve been in JAMNUTS, but I think it is meaningless to cover the song, if I cannot shed light on the competed beautiful song from the new perspective. So I dared to make like that.

DM: In this album, there are illusory tracks called “220 cures” and “284 cures”. I could imagine you are playing the groove quietly and I think this track express your image the most. What do those titles mean?

A: I also think “220 cures” expresses core part of me more, and wan to recommend this track. But actually, those two songs are come from one session. Originally, thirdiq is making music by expanding the idea of short loops freely and trying to extract genuine musician ship. But this session was brilliant. Actually I was thinking to process this session in some ways, but I did not want to add something to this session. However, it would be more than 10 minutes song and it takes a lot of time to make sense good points of this song. So I cut this session at the half. Then it was well -united. “220” is not arranged from the session, and I added acoustic guitar to “284” with listening recorded take to make it sound like triple rhythm. I tried not to sound completely same as “220”. Because those songs are from one flow of session, I named same title and just changed number. I came up with this title when I considering how I name it by relating to the song. 220 and 284 is “amicable number”. It is the number that “two different numbers so related that the sum of the proper divisors of one of the numbers is equal to the other.”. Now, there are only two numbers have such relationship and are simplistic. I thought that mysterious relationship match to the song and quoted the number. Then I felt my heart was being purified and relieved by this song during recording and I named it “Cures”. Mito from Clambon told me he likes it.

DM: In this album, sensational singer “HANAH”, “Yu Sakai”, trumpeter “Sinpei Ruike”from Nariyoshi Kikuchi Dub sextet, label mate of origami PRODUCTION “Shingo Suzuki”, and so on are participated. How did you meet them and tell me your impression.

A: I simply like HANAH's voice, and very match to my songs. it fits nicely as my feeling and I feel it’s strange destiny. Members in this album were from JAMNUS or had been playing sessions before JAMNUTS together. They are old friends. I was acting with Yu as Duo several years ago, and I joined his band. I wanted him sing my song. When I started production of 2nd album, there was a song called “lovers fiction” which I wanted Yu sings. I’m glad to release the song this time. She has gap between looks and beauty of voice. I think I am attracted her feminine but strong voice, I feel my dream came true this time. Besides the lyrics of the song is written by HANAH. Ruike participated my 1st album too. I like sound of his trumpet so much and I feel his vie of the world is close to me. He is not like typical trumpeter and I feel his sound is like “one layer inside of skin”. I feel it is close to me and feel sympathy. I had known him before he joined “urb”, so it’s long time. There was event called “Sofa” at The Room, and I did session there. So I knew most of the members of thirdiq. I really respect Shingo Suzuki. He is great as a player, of course, and his view of the world for the mix is world class. I learn a lot of things from him and feel happy he is label mate.

DM: Can you tell me any songs you have special feeling or secret episode of production?

A: For “letters” I wanted to express imaginary short movie by music, so I tried to make it like movie expressed only by music. I recorded whole one session and I felt I couldn’t play better than that. And “breath” is introduction to the world of this album. As well as live performance, I like the feeling to be into the world of music at the moment of the sound. I wanted to do the same thing in this album, and I had decided to set this song the first of this album. Especially, I want you listen the part of that chorus work starts. “mood” is also included in compilation of origami before. It is also recorded by one session and I put in the album without any change because I thought it is impossible to arrange anymore. In total more songs are not arranged than 1st album and released without any change. I was thinking to express what is made only by recording and mysterious mood that listeners do not know weather it is reality or not. And I don’t know why but those are expressed without any edit. Because I don’t want those songs are blurred by adding surplus, so more songs are not arranged or edited.

DM: What is your root of music? Can you tell me if you have particular artists and albums you were influenced?

A: When I thought I play music as a job, I was influenced by JAZZ like John Coltrane, and I reached to Miles Davis. He is great not only as a trumpeter but as a producer. I like such view of the world. And I feel Gagaku is one of my roots. It is called ancient orchestra in the world. It was born in China, came to Japan, and still remains now. It concerns to TRANCE or ROCK in true meaning. And of course BLACK MUSIC I played session with friends in Shibuya influenced me. In addition I like local music like Brazilian, African, and the like. I like the sound has ethnic tastes. I think I took long time to take that music into my body and accustom myself to them. Now I feel I finally can unite those music taken into my body and express as a color or taste of my music. If I think so, may be there are no roots of music for me.

DM: When I’m listening this album, you are indifferent to the trend in the music scene or what is sensational now, and you are not confused by information and just face to your music too keep making good music. Probably, a lot of people will be listening this album ten years later. How is your feeling and what are you thinking when you make sound?

A: It is the process to dig up sound touches my heart. And I want to make what the flow never stops. For instance, when I making ensemble with four instruments, each of them is doing different things, but they never crush and disturb the other. Even each of them are diverse, I try to make the flow lasts to the end. Besides, I am trying not to make music from music. I make a song by throwing away my part of guitarist. In other word, music or song is just a tool of myself as a human. I wonder how I can make sound from one feeling or impulse. I embody my motif from that. It is my style of production now.

DM: origami PRODUCTION is one of the labels I am checking and expecting the most. How do you feel to this label?

A: By watching people around me, I feel it is difficult to express what they really want. But this label told me “please make what really you want”, and it let me think what I really want to express for the first time. For myself, I have been listening great artist works and saving into my body, but it is rude to imitate those music entirely and actually I want to alter those benefit I have been given from those grand artists to new music. So this label is where I can achieve it. Vice versa, if I can’t do that, I am meaningless to make music. In this meaning, origami PRODUCTION gave me a chance to make what I’m really satisfied. That’s good point of this label.

DM: Then, as thirdiq, please tell me next activities and what you want to do next

A: To begin with thirdiq, I have some aims. One is Europe tour and the other is movie music. Fortunately, I could work for movie music on my album production, so I want to proceed it more. And this is project to do something interesting that is possible only by composition rather show the performance in live houses. Therefore, in the lice, I want to reconstruct compositions and show what they can see from different perspective only by live.
