  • Bio

On February 14th, indie-pop quintet, the breakups released their first full-length album, "running jumping falling shouting." The 12-song LP showcases with clarity and confidence the growth that the band has shown since their 2008 "eat your heart out ep," which reached #66 on the CMJ Top 200, with 29 Top 10 chartings at radio stations around the country. Five out of its six tracks also earned TV or film placements. This time around, the breakups conjure hints of Wilco, The Shins, Pernice Brothers, The New Pornographers, and Elliott Smith, while maintaining a strong identity all their own. The combination of fuzzy guitars with layered harmonies or playful keyboards under a melancholy lyric will keep people guessing and the hooks will bring them back for more.
