Bio

Bio:

The dying days of 2008 saw the birth of "The Almighty Fallen". Drawing on a wealth of musical experience, live performance and expertise, were hungry to produce a fresh and exciting slant on the indie/gothic rock crossover.

Lifelong friends, and session musicians, Phil Dixon and Joe Goudie, tired of the endless commercial rock offerings of major labels, spent many long Winter months in the recording studio. Tirelessly writing and recording until they at last came up with a sound they were happy with and was also very different from anything else out there! Happy with their songwriting formula the songs began to flow almost effortlessly, through using session musicians to record the song demo's they set about the difficult task of auditions.

The drummer was an easy choice, Marc 'cupcake' Cumming from Joe's old band 'Burnin' Kisses'. With an already proven record, rock solid and 100% reliable it was a no brainer. Guitar and Keys would prove not just as easy. Guitar virtuoso Ross Ardil who had recorded some session guitar on a few of the demo's, rehearsed and even gigged with the band before deciding to step down. It was to be a similar story for DBM on Keys as he found the lure to return to America where he had previously studied music at Berkley much too strong.

The band reacted quickly by recruiting lead guitarist Andrew McCallister into the line up after spotting him at one of their gigs. He was exactly what they were looking for, his precise technical style and driving riff's complimenting perfectly with that of Joe's more punk/indie guitar rhythm.

Next 'The Professor' aka Matt Rice was spotted during a recording session. His dynamic piano style, fat analog sounds and much needed backing vocals made the band act quickly in drafting him. Matt also a talented Pro Tools user and studio engineer would give the band an added edge in the recording studio. Finally Chris Kelly on bass would complete the line up. Chris previously played with Irish rockers Tinman, toured America and even played the legendary CBGB's in New York.

Live:

Seasoned performers The Almighty Fallen command their stage with undiluted power and emotion. Menacing bass & drums, vibrant guitar, soaring keys and powerful vocals are no doubt the drive behind The Almighty Fallen's atmospheric and relentless punk/pop live performances! Thoroughbred Irish rock, fuelled r'n'b beats, electronica/ fat analog keys, strummed punk chords and melodic guitar counter parts provide the groove. Stir this with their unique and instantly recognisable vocal sound and you have the reason that has branded The Almighty Fallen a breed apart!

Recording:

The bands songs are all written and recorded "in-house" by The Almighty Fallen. Locked away in their own private Pro Tools HD3 based recording studio, the guys enjoy the freedom to write and record without the usual time and money restrictions usually enforced upon most unsigned acts thus ensuring, as in the golden days of rock, the public gets exactly what the band wants to give.

News:

Currently The Almighty Fallen are locked away in the studio manically but, carefully crafting their first album.

The boys have also promised to revisit "Bittersweet' a video slide show that captured the interest of Amnesty International. The band quite deliberately offered this work up to challenge common thought as to what is perceived as right or wrong. Maybe more appropriately, who is right and who is wrong! As usual in keeping with the bands strategy.....
