About the New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund

New Orleans musicians founded NOMRF days after the levees failed and keep the help going out as donations come in. From blogs to podcasts, we’re a true grass-roots fund and have recently passed along everything from brass to strings as instrument donations come in.

As Dr. John said at one of our NOMRF shows, “This ain’t coming from government, federal, state, city - none of that. It’s coming from people that care about people. And that’s what it’s really supposed to be about . . The federal government was somewhere in the wind. Everybody was somewhere else for a long time. And that just ain’t cool. And so we do what we can for individuals.”

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

T-Shirts are billboards. You can sport your support for New Orleans musicians at our (Shop). All proceeds from the merchandise fund our relief efforts. Donations are tax-deductible.

NOMRF welcomed Liverpool musician Joe Topping when he walked across the country making his way from Chicago to New Orleans to raise funds and awareness for New Orleans musicians. The Voodoo Vixens and our wonderful 11-year-old supporter Jake helped greet him with a second line - the best way to greet anyone.
