Then went carping in the 64 degree Millstone River on the north shore in Plainsboro, NJ, this evening. Caught and released a channel catfish with canned whole kernel corn 🌽 bait on 12 lb test line.

Saw two spin out accidents on Route 129 before the tunnel while driving to my spot. Lots of fish 🐠 were jumping out of the river. Only one boat was there. A hen mallard swam nearby with 10 ducklings. Caught and released a fallfish before catching, tagging and releasing a striped bass with a 1/32 oz chartreuse leadhead jig on 4 lb test line. Took lots of pictures. Didn’t see another fisherman. Went carping in the 73 degree Millstone River on the south shore in West Windsor, NJ, this evening on a hot, humid, sunny day with a strong south wind. Threw out corn for chum then caught and released a 9” yellow perch with a 1/32 oz twister tail jig on 2 lb test line and 2 male spawn ready milt leaking common carp to 8.75 lb with canned whole kernel corn 🌽 on 12 lb test line. Turtles 🐢, goslings, cormorants, eagles, osprey, crows 🐦‍⬛, swallows, grackles, and a kayak fisherman were nearby. When I left, two fishermen were in my spot.

Completed back to back doubleheaders today. Went fishing 🎣 in Manasquan Inlet this afternoon on a hot, sunny day with little wind and incoming tide during the new moon 🌑 flood tide. Caught, tagged and released a 19” 2.75 lb fluke with a 50 year old metal. Only had one hit in 100 minutes of casting. Got weeds on nearly every cast. Lots of boats, fishermen, beach people and surfers 🏄‍♂️ were nearby. Brant were on Debbie’s Creek. Caught nothing in 4 of 7 trips to the inlet this year. Went carping in the 74 degree Millstone River on the south shore in West Windsor, NJ, this evening to complete back to back doubleheaders. A strong south wind blew away the mosquitoes 🦟 and made it feel cool in the shade. Threw out corn for chum, then caught nothing while ultralight jigging. Landed a 24” 6.5 lb milt leaking, spawn ready common carp with canned whole kernel corn on 12 lb test line. Caught 9 carp that weighed 64.5 lbs this year.

Went fishing 🎣 in Manasquan Inlet this afternoon on a warm, cloudy day with a light east wind and incoming tide. Caught, tagged and released a 28” 8 lb bluefish on a very old #2 Japanese stainless steel metal in two hours of casting. Took a long time to reel in with light line in the swift current. Good thing for me that other fishermen were not nearby. After another fisherman arrived and started fishing 🎣 to my right, I left in order to go carping. It’s nearly impossible for me to land a big fish with light line in swift current with other fishermen nearby. Caught 2 white perch and a largemouth bass with a 1/32 oz twister tail jig on 2 lb test line in 68 degree Carnegie Lake this evening. Caught nothing with canned whole kernel corn. Mosquitoes 🦟 were biting. The resident great blue heron tried to catch my perch as I reeled them in near the shore. Made a video of the heron flying in to my spot.

Went carping in 62 degree Carnegie Lake this evening in the cold rain. Caught and released a yellow perch, white perch, bluegill and musk turtle 🐢 with canned whole kernel corn 🌽 on 12 lb test line. Lost two carp. One swam into the candocks and escaped with two of my hooks. The other one threw the hook.

Went carping in the 64 degree Millstone River on the south shore in West Windsor, NJ, this evening in the cold rain with a light northwest wind. 12 cars 🚙 were in the parking lot when I arrived. Someone was fishing in my lake spot again like Sunday, so I went to the river. Found canned whole kernel corn 🌽 on the ground and in the water. Intruders took over all of my fishing 🎣 spots. I’m most likely to catch nothing on all of my fishing trips. NJ is too crowded. Threw out a can of corn for chum, then caught a 22” common carp. A spot jumper came over to my fishing 🎣 spot, then I gave him my fish. Caught an 18” common carp and the spot jumper returned with a crowd, then started fishing next to me. I gave him my second fish, then left. Aldi’s corn is great carp bait for 63 cents per can.

Went carping in 69 degrees Carnegie Lake this evening on a cloudy, cold day with a strong east wind. Caught 7 bluegills, 3 red breasted sunfish, a greengill, 2 common carp to 12 lbs and a musk turtle 🐢 with canned whole kernel corn 🌽. Saw a great blue heron catch and swallow 9 fish 🐠 before catching and releasing a bluegill. Caught 6 common carp that weighed 50.5 lbs the last 4 days. 3 carp stole 5 of my hooks.

Went carping in 72 degree Carnegie Lake this afternoon on a hot, sunny day with a light south wind before a cold front. Threw out canned whole kernel corn 🌽 for chum, then caught and released 4 bluegills, 3 white perch and a largemouth bass with a 1/32 oz twister tail jig on 2 lb test line. Also caught 2 musk turtles 🐢 and a 20” 4.5 lb milt leaking common carp that swallowed my hook. A big carp stole my 3 hook rig by wrapping my line around a downed tree, then breaking off. I made a video of a northern water snake 🐍 swimming across my fishing 🎣 spot.

Went carping in 72 degree Carnegie Lake this evening on a warm, sunny day with a strong northeasterly wind. Only saw 7 other fishermen. Two game wardens came to my spot and searched my buckets 🪣. They didn’t find any violations. Three people fishing 🎣 without a license didn’t get ticketed. A great blue heron caught and swallowed 6 white perch. I caught and released 6 white perch and a bluegill with a 1/32 oz twister tail jig on 2 lb test line, then caught and released a musk turtle 🐢 with canned whole kernel corn 🌽 on 12 lb test line. Mosquitoes 🦟 were biting.

Went carping in 70 degree Carnegie Lake this evening during a sunny, cool nor’easter. Threw out a can of corn 🌽 for chum, then caught a 6 lb common carp on my first cast for this year. Then caught a 14 lb common carp on my second cast. After catching a white sucker, I landed a 10 lb common carp on my last cast. As I walked to my car with my rods and 🪣, a young woman went to my fishing 🎣 spot, knocked over my bucket of fish 🐠, then tried to kick the fish back into the lake. I returned before she was successful. NJ people suck. I gave the four fish to Wendy’s. A fisherman from Virginia netted my two biggest fish. I used my last can of whole kernel corn 🌽 from last year.

Went fishing 🎣 in Manasquan Inlet this evening on a sunny, hot day with a strong south wind and incoming tide. Air temperature was 91 degrees when I left Bordentown and 60 degrees when I left the inlet. Caught nothing in 4 of 5 trips to the inlet this year. Another fisherman said he caught striped bass at Dog Beach at night with SP minnows. Saw 3 people putting graffiti on the rocks. Took pics. Caught a lot of weeds. Oystercatchers and ospreys were nearby. Brant were on Debbie’s Creek. I got the first parking spot near the jetty again. Other fishermen fished on both sides of my spot. I may not return until next Monday.

Went to Carnegie Lake today but the parking lot was full and two fishermen were in my spot. Fished in the 69 degree Millstone River on the south shore in West Windsor, NJ, instead. Weather was sunny and hot with a strong south wind that kept the mosquitoes 🦟 away and made it feel cooler in the shade. A pickerel bit off my jig on my first cast. Threw out a can of corn 🌽 for chum, then a 13” brown bullhead swallowed my corn bait. My hemostat broke my hook. Caught and released a 12” and 13.5” brown bullhead before using up all of my bait at dusk. After the wind stopped, mosquitoes 🦟 arrived. I killed some. Eight boaters were on the river. A few fish 🐠 swirled. Lots of turtles 🐢 were in the river. Heard a bullfrog. Hooked my UnderArmour pants and Buzzoff hoodie while walking to my car at night. Lots of people were out in the nice weather.
