In the winter of 2006, when Mayumi first hit East Quest Studios in Los Angeles to try out a couple of song ideas with Doctor. Thats what everybody simply calls him, Doc...Doctor. Mayumi first met renowned producer Dr. Osamu Kitajima some time ago after finishing one of her previous albums "Bossa Nova No Cafe". The two started toying with the idea of recording some songs. There was no concept, no plan but just the love for music. Any kind in fact. While Osamu was going through his library of songs the idea came up of re-recording one of his older tracks "Anata Wa Warune". He suggested to turn the whole song upside down. Try something different with it while keeping the original lyrics.
Mayumi talked to Ken Rangkuty, her music partner and now other half of Make and asked him to rearrange the tune. Shortly after Ken became a regular in the studio.
The three of them continued to work together in Osamu's studio and over time a solo project turned into a duo which was simply named Make.
Their first full length album "MAKE OVER" was released on 6.6.2007 in Japan
on Up-Front Works/ Zetima.
