Minami Kizuki (born 1989) is a Japanese singer.
She was born in Amami-Oshima, Kagosima, Japan and began playing the
classical piano at the age 3.
She began to sing Amami Island folk songs called shima-uta after having
left the island at the age of 15.
She contracted with a label at the age of 18 and made her recording
debut in 2009.
Her first single "Aitsumugi" was topped CD sales chart in Kagoshima.
The character of her songs is her clear and sweet voice with dynamic and
unique vocalism of shima-uta.
She is going to perform at the open-air music festival "ECLIPSE2009"
which celebrates the greatest total eclipse of the sun in this century
after an interval of 46 years that can be observed in Japan, especially
in Amami-Oshima. (July 16-25, 2009)
Also she is going to have performance in May 2009 in New York.

鹿児島県奄美大島に生まれる。
3歳からピアノを始め、クラシックに傾倒する。15歳で島を離れた後、奄美大島
の伝統文化である“島唄”を歌いはじめる。
18歳でレーベル契約し、2009年シングル『アイツムギ』でデビュー。デビューシ
ングルで鹿児島県内のCDセールスランキング1位を獲得する。
透明で優しく、包み込むような大きくて強い歌声、そして彼女のルーツである奄
美大島の島唄の独特の歌唱法が特徴的なシンガー。
46年ぶりに日本で、特に奄美大島を中心に観測される今世紀最大の皆既日食を祝
う野外ミュージックフェスティバル“ECLIPSE2009”への出演も決まっている。
