"Battle Without Honor or Humanity" was used by Quentin Tarantino as the title track for his outstanding film "Kill Bill". This song is one of his most recognizable tunes and went on to be used in further movies such as Michael Bay's "Transformers", many TV shows and commercials world wide.

After reaching the remarkable success as a guitarist of the legendary rock band “BOØWY” (pronounced Bowie), Hotei launched his solo project series called “GUITARHYTHM”. “GUITARHYTHM I~V” and its live albums are released over two decades span and have been most influential conceptual work for recent young Japanese rock-oriented artists.

As his first cover album, Hotei selected legendary rock tunes with the respect for the artist he loves. The songs originally performed by Roxy Music, T.Rex, The Edgar Winter Group, Beatles and others were revitalized with Hotei's modern approaches.

Six String Theory
“Six String Theory”/Lee Ritenour
Most recently, Hotei was invited to record on Lee Ritenour’s project “Six String Theory”, appearing alongside 19 other world famous guitarists, such as Slash, B.B.King and George Benson amongst others.
Guitar Concerto
"Guitar Concerto"/ Kamen + Hotei
Renowned composer Michael Kamen met Hotei at UNESCO: Great Music Experience '94, participated with Bob Dylan, Jon Bon Jovi, Joni Mitchell and others. Later, Kamen picked Hotei to play guitar at Atlanta Olympics Closing Ceremony, and this lead to him collaborating on Kamen's album-"Guitar Concertos"
World Collide
"World Collide"/ Apocalyptica
Hotei has featured as a guest guitarist for the band Apocalyptica on their song "Grace". Apocalyptica is known for their innovative format; 3 cellos and heavy drums. Hotei also stars in their unique claymation music video.
Merry Axemas
"Merry Axemas"/ Various Artists
This compilation album contains classic Christmas carols performed by the rock guitarists, Jeff Beck, Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Steve Vai and others. Hotei plays "Happy Xmas (War is Over)" by John Lennon & Yoko Ono.
