ENGLISH PROFILE: Frédéric DAVERIO (Accordionist-composer)Profile Known as “Jimi Hendrix of the accordion world”, “Creating the best short-films”, “the new style of music” are the words FrédéricÅ@DAVERIO is receiving from all over the world. He has an Italian grandfather, born in Paris and is a French. Started learning the classical accordion under Constantin Marc Pierre at the age of five, graduated from Aix-en-Provence conservatoire when 17. He started his career as a classical accordionist and has become popular with his marvelous techniques and enchanting music quality. Frédéric starts composing when 22 years old and releases his first album “Le Troisième Jour” with his original musical composition in 1997. Many composers were inspired by Daverio’s accordion and have composed music. In 2004, he was invited to perform at he 20th “Summer at Tokyo” music festival and performed “Tingel Tangel” (for soprano, accordion and cymbalom (1990) at Hakuju hall for the first time in Japan. In December 2008, he has played duo with Madoka OCHI, and as a soloist, Daverio performed live at Apple Store Ginza and Shibuya as an iTune artist and was popular. With Madoka, he performed at the first “Aout Musical” opening concert at Dinan, France and was highly successful. In November 2008, Daverio participated in the spectacle of “Ceci n’est pas un tango” which was in collaboration with dance, performance and music. This was an offer from a dancer Marc Rufer and Beatrix Strebel who had been strongly inspired by him. In October 2009, it was re-performed in Paris, and with the stage director Geraldine Bourgue, he performed ten times. Not only as an accordionist and performing, he also composes and collaborates with artists from different fields such as: dance, performing arts, poetry and films. His music is used widely in Europe, Asia and the States, among various media like TV broadcasting stations and radio stations. In April 2008, his second solo album “Silence…On Tourne” was released. How he expresses the world of unique sound with a story unfold in every music, tells us the beauty of new fascination of an accordion as a music instrument provides him a group of admirers all over the world.
