DJ toMU was given a birth in Tokyo, JPN.
He started the dj-mixing when he was in high school.
In '98, toMU moved straight to New York City. Out there, he got deeply into the music created by playing the turntable instrumentally.
In '00, he began his career as a turntablist (for bands at first).
As a piece of bands for hire, toMU has performed in the several kinds of genres such as Turntablism, Jazz Funk, Rock, Hip Hop and so on.
When he was a member of the Organic Hip Hop Dub Band called RAINATION, he shared the stages with world-prominent artists(groups) such as
Black Eyed Peas
Common
Julian Marley
Omar
Robert Randolph & the Family Band, etc.
In addition to that, he also took part in the jam sessions with Denis Davis, the legendary drummer for David Bowie, Roy Ayers, & Stevie Wonder.
As a solo, he became the first and only Japanese turntablist, who was placed in the 2nd prize of DMC New York Final in '05.
Afterward, he was found and recognized by Toshi Kubota, the pioneer of Japanese Soul and R&B. Then, his scratching was recorded and put into the 2 songs of his album named "For Real?".
As of today, toMU is currently back in Japan, and working on the solo live-showcase, live-djing for the Japanese-American rapper OHGA, playing as a piece in the Japanese Hip Hop band, arranging & producing music, etc.
