  • Bio

D’erlanger is a visual kei band that is considered one of the forefathers of the genre, inspiring countless bands that came afterwards. Formed in 1983, they released their debut album, La Vie en Rose, on an independent label in 1989. After building up a substantial fanbase through their live performances, they released their debut major-label single, “Darlin’”, in January 1990. Almost exactly 11 months later, they announced the dissolution of the band. After nearly two decades, the band decided to reunite in 2007, simultaneously releasing a new album, Lazzaro, and a greatest hits album, Pandora, via Avex Entertainment on March 14th. They played their first concert on April 22nd at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall in Tokyo. Tickets sold out in minutes, and were resold for upwards of one million yen on internet auction sites. After a concert at Zepp Tokyo in May, they played at Osaka Kosei-Nenkin Hall, where they had played their last show almost 18 years before. Sharing the stage with upcoming visual kei bands Mucc and Merry, they used the event as a chance to showcase their new sound. In 2008, they played a series of live events in Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka. Known as “Abstinence’s Door”, the shows drew huge crowds on every occasion. Their first single since reuniting, “Zakuro”, was released in March, followed by a new album, The Price of Being a Rose is Loneliness, in May. They played at the prestigious Budokan in Tokyo on May 6th of the same year. D’erlanger undertook their first full-fledged reunion tour in 2009. Known as “A Babel of Voices”, the tour extended to 16 cities throughout Japan, as well as Taipei and Seoul. They participated in two music festivals, Water Aid and V-Rock Festival ’09, in fall 2009. Their fifth album, the self-titled D’erlanger, was released on November 11th. They played a show at Well-City Osaka Arts Hall on the same day. Billed as “11e Cross Intoxication”, it was followed two days later by “13e Cross Intoxication” at Tokyo’s NHK Hall. In 2010, D’erlanger will once again tour Japan. Entitled “La Bouche de 12 Diable”, the tour will consist of 12 shows in 6 cities nationwide. And then, tour around metoropolice_Tokyo called " La bouche de 8 ange" show in 8 cities. For KIDS BLUE Live in 18th June at Daikanyama_Tokyo,too. NEW ALBUM called "a Fabulous Thing in Rose" is self_coverd album. It will be release at 29th.September! "ABSTINENCE'S DOOR" is D'ERLANGER's festival.#005 and #006 will open September at STUDIO COAST _Tokyo. And,#007 will open 25th September at The Wall_Taipei!
