.. .. .. .. .... Finnish rock..n..roll gypsy, Pirate of the Baltic Sea Andy McCoy was born 11.10.1962 in Lapland, Northern Finland. He moved to Stockholm, Sweden almost immediately after his birth and spent his childhood there. That..s why he speaks perfect swedish. At the age of 13 Andy came back to Finland and started his rock..n..roll career. He had played guitar since 5-year-old and had learned very quickly how to play. After taken guitar lessons for a year his teacher told him: "Sorry Andy, I don..t know how to say this, but you play now better than me, so you have to find a new teacher or start to teach me." Andy had done 7 years guitar lessons in a 1 year. In Finland he soon formed the first finnish punk band Briard and they got a gig in Linnanmäki, the biggest amusement park in Finland, when they told that their music reminds of the music of Matti and Teppo. The gig was interrupted after 3 songs. Then Andy played in the bands of Maukka Perusjätkä and Pelle Miljoona, very famous and popular artists in Finland back then at that time, before he met Michael Monroe and formed legendary Hanoi Rocks together with him. After Hanoi Rocks.. tragic end Andy had a band called Cherry Bombz and duo Suicide Twins with Hanoi guitarist Nasty Suicide, he made his 1st solo album in Finland, toured around the world with Iggy Pop late 80..s and had a band called Shooting Gallery in LA early 90..s. He moved back to Finland in the middle of the 90..s, made his 2nd solo album and toured with his band called Live Ammo. Then he made an album with his old buddy Pete Malmi, the singer of Briard, before the rebirth of Hanoi Rocks. In march 2006 Andy played couple of duo gigs in China with the finnish blues singer Kojo. Hanoi Rocks played 8 sold out gigs in a row at Tavastia club 7.-12.4.2009. That..s a new record at that club, any other band has never done that before. .. .. .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .... .... .. .. .. .. ..
