ZEBBHI NIYAH

Bio:

Zebbhi Niyah was born in Jamaica, W.I. in the parish of Clarendon. As a youth he was heavily influenced by music he heard at Pocomania Revivals ,ska bands, and musicians he heard at Coronation Market Place. He made his first instruments at the age of five (guitars, fife, flutes of bamboo and drums out of cheese tinpan).
In his teens he moved to Brooklyn, New York, where Zebbhi Niyah perfected his musical skills and started performing with artists like Junior Byles, Carl Buggs (from Peter Tosh's Band), Vision(Rita Marley's nephew) and Johnny Prescott (brother of WBLS & WLIB NYC commentator Pat Prescott).
Zebbhi was a member of R&B acts like Double Exposure, Jones' & Claimjumpers (ex-members of the Commodores). Deciding to forward to his roots, he became the guitarist for Reggae Greats like Ken Boothe, John Holt, Sugar Minott, Horace Andy, Melody Makers ( Ziggy & Stephen Marley), Dennis Brown, Johnny Osbourne, Barrington Levy, Yellowman, Jackie Mittoo (of the Skatalites), Max Romeo, Alton Ellis, Beres Hammond, Bulwackie Studios Rhythm force, and Japanese Sunsplash Tour 86'.
He shared stages with the Clash, Ramones, Joan Jett, Marshall Tucker, and Reggae greats Jimmy Cliff, Inner Circle, Burning Spear, Maxi Priest, Black Uhuru, Wailing Souls, Meditations, Coco T, Sizzla, Capleton, Half Pint, Steel Pulse, Aswad, Judy Mowatt (of Bob Marley’s I-threes), Shaggy and Third World. His worldwide performances include venues i.e. Madison Square Gardens,NYC's S.O.B's, Carnegie Hall, Apollo Theater, U.N. building, Sheraton Manhattan (at an exclusive " Star Search" party hosted by Ed McMahon),world class La Paloma Resort Tucson, AZ ( an AMA convention) a birthday party for Mellon/Carnegie family, a post game party at Bank One Ballpark for the Diamondbacks National NBL Championship win, The Rose Bowl (Pasadena Calif. ), The Centurian Clubs annual Benefit (which is the largest most anticipated yearly event in the state of Arizona & has a draw of over 20,000). Bob Marley Tribute at Universal Studios, Orlando. Zebbhi Niyah has also performed at prestigious universities like Harvard, Yale, Colgate, Penn State, S.U.N.Y., Princeton, ASU, University of Arizona, University of Florida. Marineland of Florida ( a corporate video shoot) Sheraton Ft. Myers, Marriot International Orlando, Inlet Harbor Golden Lion, Chases on the Beach, Cliff Castle Casino, Alice Coopers "Cooperstown" and Havasupai in the Grand Canyon.
Zebbhi Niyah has made commercials for the Gap and Footlocker Stores and done promotions for Red Stripe, Corona, Asahi, Jim Beam, Jose Cuervo,Marineland Florida, and Jimmy Buffets’ Parrotheads.Zebbhi Niyah has done Grand Openings for HARLEY-DAVIDSON (Scottsdale,Az),Chandler Fashion Square Mall,Bob Marley Festival, WORLDPORT '02,and HEADLINED the Chandler Jazz Festival.
Zebbhi has been featured on tv, in magazines and newspapers world wide. He has recorded with many famous artists and now produces his own C.D.’s
Zebbhi Niyah is available for concerts, festivals, tours, restaurants, clubs, theme parks, corporate functions, commercial venues, weddings, video shoots, cruises and beach parties. ......
