Music Link NZ in association with NZ Rockshops and DEAN Guitars are proud to announce Paul ‘The Axeman’ Martin as NZ's local endorsee of DEAN Guitars.

The Axemans joins a league of the worlds greatest players including Dimebag, Dave Mustaine, Michael Angelo Batio, Trivium, Soil, Hell Yeah, Morbid Angel, Leslie West, Vinnie Moore, Michael Schenker, Rudolf Schenker, Sevendust, Power Quest. Mushroomhead, Testament, Arch Enemy,ZZ Top, Sammy Hagar, Zakk Wylde and heaps more who play DEAN, the worlds greatest guitars.

“It is an honour for us to have such an icon of the NZ music scene work with us to promote DEAN guitars in NZ.” Says NZs DEAN representative, Matt Walsham. “Paul's musicianship and outright passion for DEAN guitars were instrumental in our decision to work with him.  DEAN is a company that is passionate about original artists and especially the metal scene.  Paul Martin - already an avid supporter and user of DEAN guitars is undoubtedly the man that embodies the DEAN spirit more than any other player in NZ.

We look forward to working with Paul to release some awesome new DEAN product in 2009 and beyond."

The Axeman responds "I am totally honoured and humbled to be part of the DEAN family. I could not be in better company. DEAN guitars have always stood for exceptional quality and playability and the company understands and embraces metal more than any other guitar manufacturer. DEAN guitars are honestly the best guitars I have ever played and my Razorback is the ultimate metal machine, it takes no prisoners and shows no mercy, just like World War Four!"

  • World War Four on for Big Day Out 09!

    PRESS RELEASE

World War Four on for Big Day Out 09!
The Waikato band conceived by the Axeman ten years ago
now takes their rightful place on NZ's biggest festival.
With the track 'Pet Hate' tearing up the radio waves
the band are keen to declare War on the BDO population
with a passion and vehemence rarely seen in NZ.

'Fkn stand back!' says the Axeman 'There will be no prisoners,
we will be there to annihilate.'

Fiercely unique and proudly Kiwi, World War Four represent
the muscle and blood of the ordinary New Zealand music fan
who isn't caught up with lame, disposable trends and fads.
World War Four are honest and real and WILL bring the danger
    back to live music.

If songs like Pet Hate, Wither, Knife Fight or Liar Liar don't get
your blood pumping, you're already dead!

'This is a first for the BDO in NZ with an unprecedented 3 kick arse
kiwi metal bands on the bill World War Four, Subtract and Just One Fix
this will definitely be a real celebration of NZ metal.'
The Axeman adds, 'We have fought for this for a long, long time.
Fkn bring it on! This means War.'

    World War Four

    2007,
    Single/Promo
World War Four are a very impressive band. Their
rock solid music is well written and catchy, with the
presence of the secret ingredient that is lacking in so
many other bands' songs nowadays; a decent
amount of hooks. On top of this, the vocalist, Paul
"Axeman" Martin is a talented singer who proves that
you don't need the pipes of an opera singer, just the
right attitude and delivery. I really enjoyed World War
Four's music. The only thing I felt was missing was a
guitar solo or two, but that's the old school metalhead
    talking!
