'Snow White and the Huntsman' Makes It A Summer Movie Season After All: What This Weekend's Box Office Says About Us

Universal Pictures
.
With the release of ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ (Or as I like to call it, Emo Snow White) this past weekend and with ‘The Avengers’ already becoming the third highest grossing movie of all time, it’s safe to say Summer Movie Season is officially under way! ‘Battleship’ is 2012’s first summer blockbuster bomb and ‘Men In Black III’ did not meet expectations, but ‘Snow White,’ after scaring the hell out of Universal with a less than stellar midnight showing gross on Thursday night, actually did pretty well. Finally grossing $56.3 million, ‘Snow White,’ while not ‘Avengers’ style huge is on pace to do pretty well. -
What This Weekend's Box Office Says About Us: 'Men In Black III' Takes Down 'The Avengers'

Well, it was finally accomplished. ‘The Avengers’ were taken down and it all happened on Memorial Day weekend. USA! USA! DEMOCRACY! OTHER MOVIES! ‘The Avengers’ was unseated, predictably, by ‘Men In Black III,’ a film that was well liked simply by being better than anyone could have expected. Couple that with the fact that ‘Men In Black III’ was the only living American movie star Will Smith’s first film in seven years and it should have been unstoppable. BUT, it kind of wasn’t. Listen, it came in number one with $70 million, but for a much hyped and much talked about sequel that cost a reported $250 million to produce $70 million ain’t exactly gangbusters. -

I don’t want to age myself, but I’ve been a fan of Will Smith’s since he first came onto the scene as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air back in 1990. Somewhat amazingly, his career started several years before that, and today — in anticipation of this weekend’s release of Men In Black 3 a good fifteen years after the first film hit the big screens — I’ve decided to dig into everything that went into the making of one of the biggest stars in the world… -
New 'Men in Black 3' Featurette Highlights Jemaine Clement's Villain, Boris The Animal

Sony Pictures
.
Men in Black 3 features the continuing adventures of Agents J and K, but the real stars of the movie aren’t Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones: they’re actually Josh Brolin (playing a young Agent K) and Jemaine Clement, who plays the villainous Boris The Animal. Sony has released a new featurette for the movie that shows us how Clement buried himself under hours of makeup to become almost unrecognizable for this part. Take a look below!
