We’re only days away now from the official release of The Hunger Games on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download formats. Hopefully, you’ve already pre-ordered your copy, but if for some crazy reason you haven’t, then let us add a little more motivation in the form of a new Blu-ray / DVD trailer and two new featurettes starring Jennifer Lawrence.

Jennifer Lawrence was the central star of The Hunger Games, and as such should be entitled to a raise for the next film in the franchise, right? That’s the argument of the film’s producers at least, after the success of the first film. This is not uncommon in Hollywood, as The Twilight Saga stars all received bumps in pay after each successful film.

Most of the world probably knows Jennifer Lawrence from her superstar performances as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games and as Mystique in last year’s X-Men: First Class. But the actress got her start in the indie film scene, and really came to prominence in a movie called Winter’s Bone back in 2010, where she earned her first Oscar nomination as a young girl on a quest to save her family and find her father in the Ozark mountains.

In a new behind-the-scenes clip from the upcoming Blu-ray for The Hunger Games, Lawrence talks about the differences between working on a big budget production and a smaller film, and how her Mom was the main person to talk her into playing Katniss in this movie. Check it out!

A couple of months ago we reported on the news that The Hunger Games DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download would drop in August. While the date is only a few weeks away, we’ve got a trailer for the bonus features to tide us over until then.

With the success of “The Hunger Games” at the box office it’s no surprise that pre-production is underway for the sequel, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” What might come as a surprise today, however, is the shooting location for some of the film’s crucial scenes. It looks as though the new arena will be filmed in Hawaii.
