Let’s face it, the hip-hop world seems like an absurd joke sometimes which was evidenced once again this week when Lil B produced a song featuring KeKe ,The Adopted Tabby Cat, who he dubbed as the “first animal in hip-hop.”

For that reason we decided to post three crazier/weirder things in hip-hop, because there’s way weirder sh*t than this.

  • A$AP Rocky Makes Love, Not War

The SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills is tastefully posh, the sort of place that always smells faintly, never overwhelmingly, of magnolia blossoms and freshly-minted money. But there’s also a hint of playfulness – giant flowerpots and a red carpet lead into the lobby, and hand mirrors and chalices dangling off a chandelier make up the hotel’s crest.
    .
It’s the perfect spot to meet A$AP Rocky, the 24-year-old Harlem rapper with more than a little Southern in his swag and plenty of money in his pocket. “I’m cozy,” he says, sucked into a couch in the lobby, one knee cocked up. He’s doing a press day before his show at the Hollywood Palladium. While most artists tend to tire of the endless stream of reporters asking the same questions over and over, Rocky, who’s real name is Rakim Mayers, seems to revel in it.

  • Kids These Days Bring It Home on 'Traphouse Rock'

A police car pulls into a McDonald’s parking lot on Chicago’s North Side. Vic Mensa, wearing a black vest atop a tie-dyed hoodie and sitting on the trunk of a Volkswagen, gazes in its direction while a horde of teenagers clamor for a piece of him; he doesn’t flinch. The rapper and member of Windy City ensemble Kids These Days is here with his bandmates, being one with the people. Aside from perhaps violating some pesky loitering rules, he’s doing no wrong; the policemen soon exit the premises. The parking-lot party, spurred by a series of tweets from the band and centered on the impending release of the group’s debut album, Traphouse Rock, resumes. Mensa smiles.

  • OneTwoWatch: Sky Ferreira

Sky Ferreira is a lovely combination of so many things: of urban cool and sweetly awkward vulnerability, of light and dark, of fragility and ferocity. Her upbringing was unlike most, spending holidays with Michael Jackson, taking opera lessons, becoming a mini-style icon stomping the streets of LA. She actually got noticed first here on Myspace and has been steadily building her catalog of sometimes synth/pop, sometimes haunting melancholy ballads for her ever growing fan base. Beyond her obvious charm and expanding and enduring talent, she’s at the point where she’s poised to break out in a major way right now and that’s why she’s our OneTwoWatch. Meet Sky Ferreira.
