One of the most successful Halloween franchises ever (and certainly the most successful of the last few years) is the Paranormal Activity series. Now, creator Oren Peli is bringing us his newest creation: Chernobyl Diaries. A group of American tourists decide to visit what was once home to the Chernobyl reactor workers, thinking it’s been long abandoned. Of course, they quickly learn that’s not the case. .
Warner Brothers has released seven clips from the film, and if I’ve learned anything, it’s that I’m never going within 200 miles of a nuclear anything, out of fear of the .0000001% chance that there are radioactive mutants waiting to eat me.
.
“Hey, let’s go visit a nuclear wasteland. What could possibly go wrong!?” Yeah, that sounds like a GREAT idea. .
.
“What exactly happened at Chernobyl?” Not exactly a Rhodes scholar, are we? .
.
How come nuclear waste only creates evil-looking mutations? .
.
Shouldn’t they be worried that “Uri’s special entrance” is code for “Uri’s serial killing hideout?” .
.
These guards are scary. They look like they’ve been pumped full of steroids since they were youngins’. .
.
Spend the night in the van, or walk 13 miles in the dark. Hmmm, I wonder which one they should choose? .
.
WTF is that thing lurking in the background!? . Chernobyl Diaries opens May 25th, 2012. .

After a brief exploration of the abandoned city, however, the group soon finds themselves stranded, only to discover that they are not alone…
