Oftentimes, superhero movies are only as good as their villain. Which is why we’re excited to see Dr. Curt Connors (aka The Lizard) as the bad guy in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man. He’s definitely one of the more compelling villains in the comic books, and based on what we see in two new videos, Rhys Ifans has taken the material to heart.
The first video is a behind-the-scenes featurette that includes interviews with Ifans and director Marc Webb. Both emphasize Dr. Connors’ history with Peter Parker’s father, as the story of Peter’s parents has been one of the major points used to differentiate this film from the previous Spider-Man franchise. The second is a viral video in which Dr. Connors touts the research of Oscorp (his employer), and it reminded us of the Guy Pearce ‘TED Talk’ video that came out several months ago for Prometheus. .
You can watch the featurette below, to watch the viral video, head to the Oscorp Industries website. .

Synopsis: Like most teenagers his age, Peter [played by Andrew Garfield] is trying to figure out who he is and how to be the person he is today. In his journey to put the pieces of his past together he uncovers a secret that his father [Campbell Scott] held… a secret that will ultimately shape his destiny as Spider-Man. This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story.
