Have you ever wanted to see Adam Levine shoot a gun, heist a car and urge a police chase? Yes? Well then good news, Maroon 5’s brand new video for “Payphone” is basically an action movie starring Levine (and, apparently, none of his bandmates).

The clip opens with Levine, fatigued and covered in dirt, picking up a payphone under a highway underpass and follows a slightly unclear tale of a bank robbery, car chase and subsequent car explosion. Levine plays a bank employee (who, just so we are clear that he is smart, wears glasses). One day, the bank gets held up and Levine’s character plays hero, grabbing a gun and escaping. Somehow this turns into a slew of cops chasing Levine in a stolen sports car that apparently belongs to Wiz Khalifa, who guests on the track. Pretty convenient. There are a lot of giant explosions and somehow it brings Levine here to the underpass where he uses the payphone to call – well, we’re not sure who he’s calling but it might be the female bank employee he left on the side of the road for no apparent reason.
