Adele’s hit album 21 has now been in the Billboard Top 200’s top ten slots for the past 63 weeks. Yep, that’s right, you read that correctly: 63 weeks. But of those the disc has only been at No. 1 for 23 weeks – and next week may become its 24th.
    .

Because no major releases came out this week, Adele will be up against Carrie Underwood, whose new disc Blown Away is currently at No. 1 on the Top 200. And with Mother’s Day in the mix this weekend, well, we think you know who will come out on top. And we know what you’re thinking: Doesn’t everyone already own 21? According to Billboard, 21 has sold nearly 9 million copies in the U.S. alone, accounting for both digital and physical albums. So while that’s a lot, apparently there are heartbroken people everywhere who still need to snag a disc.
    .

This means that Underwood and Adele will battle it out for No. 1 and 2. But what about the other slots in the top 10? According to Billboard, Silversun Pickups’ latest effort, Our Neck of the Woods, is expected to debut high, with an expected 40,000 copies sold. That number would put them in the top 10.

Do you own Adele’s 21 yet or will you be one of the people buying a copy this week? Let us know in the comments.
