We have to be honest — LOL looks, er, decidely un-Oscar-worthy. However, we swoon for Douglas Booth, the hottie who plays opposite Miley Cyrus in the film, every time he steps onscreen in the trailer. Because he’s arguably more attractive than Robert Pattinson, and because he’ll next take on a role last revived by Leonardo DiCaprio, we’re going to go ahead and predict a speedy A-list ascent for the 19-year-old Brit.

Douglas Booth first took the stage at the age of 12, when he played Agamemnon in a school play. In regards to this introduction to acting, Booth recently told Vogue, “I struggled with dyslexia when I was young, so I knew that whatever I did it wouldn’t be academic. Then playing Agamemnon — well at the age of 12 — I thought ‘I rather like being the centre of attention’, this is where I want to be.”

Though acting has been his focus ever since, Booth stumbled into modeling by accident and is perhaps best known — at this point — for being the face of Burberry.

Which isn’t to say that he hasn’t had his share of notable roles in recent years. In 2010, he played quite the convincing Boy George in the TV movie Worried About the Boy. He then played Pip in a BBC adaptation of Great Expectations.

This year, he was named one of Vogue.com’s “Faces to Watch,” and we couldn’t agree more. Not only will he appear in LOL this weekend, but he’s also taken on the role of Romeo opposite Hailee Steinfeld’s Juliet in the newest remake of the classic tale of star-crossed lovers. We don’t know about you, but we’ll definitely be lining up for that one.
