Vulcan V-8

.....THE LAST SHOW !!!!!

.....For this version of the band...which exsisted from 1986-88....yet took South Florida by Storm in being it's VERY FIRST...SPEED-METAL..THRASH ACT !!!!..

.....With songs such as "SKULL BASH"....."THE URGE" (see Green Clusterluck link)....."ON THE RUN"...and..."SATANS CITIZENS" being written in 1983 and passed on to this version of the band....combining with NEW CLASSICS such as "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE"....."UNKNOWN ASSASSIN"...and "VICTIM NO MORE" .............or the notorious...locally infamous....."F.H.I.T.A.W.A.L.M.B." ;-))))...VULCAN performed above and beyond...playing sets of an hour and a half.....and once even performed a 2 1/2 hour show at the old Button South .....playing 31 songs....only 1 cover....a killer version of Symtom of the Universe by Black Sabbath...a little....on the speedy side...lol...

.....As you can tell.....I still believe the World should know about Vulcan...we had a run of 11 years here in South Florida....so yes....there will be more V-sites coming.....the first will be V-12....which will 4 more songs from this show.....including the infamous..F.H.I.T.A.W.A.L.M.B......;-)))

......This version contains my favorite line-up.....no offense to all the other Vulcans by any means....this one just....."whipped the crowd into a frenzy"...on many a hot Florida evening.....opening for bands such as Savatage, Anthrax, Armored Saint, At War, Nuclear Assualt, Agent Steele, Crimson Glory,...*..actually..Crimson Glory did a cover of Skull Bash..;-))))....one of the songs on this site....from what I hear in the rumourmill.....

......This particular show.......we showed up for the show....to be told we were cancelled.....????????...the manager of the club lying to us...saying...there's too many college kids in here......they won't get it......they wanna hear Van Halen and Led Zepplin......I called your manager 2 weeks ago and told her...I mentioned the fact that we had booted our manager about 6 months before that....and I had booked the show...and if we were cancelled 2 weeks ago...why was I running around in here putting posters up 3 nights before.....duh...

......"well......you guys gotta tone it down for the evening...cuz they're not used to a thrash band"........we were....speedmetal...thrashy...a bit....thinking the melodies and commercial side of it still......seperated us from being the all out thrash act......speed-metal..I would lean towards....as the roots were still from the Maiden and Priest mold.....by now though...moving on to Wayne being an Anthrax die-hard.....alex loving Overkill to death.....me and megadeth........and Todd......the Savatage kinda guy......

.......but....we sound like ......we.........WE THE V.......

.......and.......nobody.......sounded like us......not with the female banshee screamin lead vox of Alex Dee....Wayne was local guitar God.....as the speed player.......we were very lucky to be part of a great scene at that time here..

........Tuff Luck........with David Scott........Defiance with Ben Cross...I think it was.......Diamond Rose...with singer Oni Logan....who drummed for me in a pre-vulcan band......Lynx........and moved on to singing for the LYNCH MOB...

.........to mention only a few.......I would mention Cryer.....but....they somehow found a way to cancel every show they ever got booked with......up against VULCAN.......and.....in those days......it was.......AGAINST........metal wars...lol......but Cryerbabies cancelled ever show.....did well ...great band..but....wimped out on us for sure.....

..........2 bands......came on from miami.......Amazing Grace and The Drills....they both had the speedy-hardcore thing starting up.....as I remember.......and ....Violent Playground.....our gigging partners for the most part..........and ....Shear Fear........the best band name in town.....according to me...;-))))))))

...........okay....enough babble........go listen to wayne's blistering leads..and think.........wow.......he was a bit ahead of his time.......for that time....because....he most certainly was.......don't forget ..this is the last show...he was with vulcan since 85 playing like that.....;-)))
