Welcome to another year, and another decade of Voodoo Glow Skulls! It’s hard to believe that we’ve been able to surpass the 20 year anniversary mark, and still be able to progress with our music. It’s all representative of hard work, dedication, and most of all, loyalty from our great fans world-wide! We wish you all the best for 2010, and many years to come. Okay, now on to the future of VGS and what’s in store for all of us. We’ll start with the bad new first. First of all, we deeply regret announcing that our original drummer and founding member of the band, Jerry O’Neill has left the band due to personal reasons.
Jerry is a long-time friend, he helped start the band, and was recognized as the personality of VGS amongst our peers. We are sad to see him go, and we wish him the best of luck with all of his future endeavors. At the same time, and without skipping a beat, we would like to welcome and introduce our new drummer, local friend, and member of VGS, Chris Dalley.
We have been working on our latest and newest musical project for over a year now, and in between tours. Once again, it is being recorded at our very own Dog Run Studios, and with our guitarist, Eddie. We’re putting the finishing touches on the new album now, and we anticipate the new release in mid-March of 2010. There’s no title yet, and the album will be self-released on our very own record label, California Street Music.
We are no longer on Victory Records, and we’re going to release it ourselves in true D.I.Y. fashion! The new album will be available digitally online directly through our website, and for a minimum donation. It will also be available at all the usual online retail outlets. And limited pressings of Vinyl & Cd’s will be available directly through the band both online, and at the shows only. We are very happy with the new direction and progression of the latest project, and we’re confident that you will too! Selected tracks can now be heard on our myspace profile -

Voodoo Glow Skulls will be on tour throughout the year both stateside, and across the pond in the UK & Europe. We have several local & regional dates throughout the West coast. Some in March, with our good friends, and partners in crime from New Jersey, The Hub City Stompers. And we are in the works to hopefully put together a VGS headlining tour. If things come together as planned, we will be hitting selective cities throughout the Southwest in April. Friends in the UK & Europe! We will see you twice this year, in the summertime! VGS will be making two separate trips to cover the festival season. And if you’ve been lucky enough to experience any European festival? You’ll know exactly why we are coming out twice!
Lastly, we would once again like to thank all of our fans who truly are the heart and inspiration for us to keep going 20+ years strong!! We would also like to thank the Fender Custom Shop, Draven Shoes, Yamaha Drums, Ernie Ball, Remo, Promark, Explosive Industries and all the other companies that keep hooking us up with their fine products for us to use and abuse on tour. Having a band is an expensive business, and without your support, we’d be naked and without any musical instruments!
