  • Bio

....myspace-html-layout.com!.. The Meat Purveyors started playing together in 1996 and have put out five records on Bloodshot: Sweet in the Pants (1998), More Songs About Buildings and Cows (1999), All Relationships Are Doomed to Fail (2002), Pain By Numbers (2004), and Someday Soon Things Will Be Much Worse! (2006). Along the way we've toured all over the US and Canada, and even Norway. We have met a shitload of cool people everywhere we've gone.
  • Members

Jo Stanli Walston--sweet but mean singer Cherilyn diMond--upright bass, more singing, and wisecracks Peter Stiles --speedmetal mandolin Bill Anderson --guitarist, songwriter, control freak Some bands we've been in: poison 13, ballad shambles, the horsies, joan of arkansas, the danged, wad, wet, cat scientist, big foot chester, neko case and her boyfriends, various bands fronted by jon langford, etc.
  • Influences

Hmmmm, that's too tough a question. Instead, this are some folks we've covered: George Jones, Ratt, Velvet Underground, Bill Monroe, Daniel Johnson, Madonna, Boyd Rice, Johnny Paycheck, ABBA, Fleetwood Mac... you put it together.
  • Sounds Like

Turbonegro, but with some girls. And not scandinavian, gay, or junkies. Also, playing bluegrass. OK, maybe more like ABBA. But with more soap opera, fewer instruments, and no blondes.

Shows??? Are you playing again?! Ok, so here's the deal. This KS gal will be wanderin' around Texas for the next week for 7 or 8 days (Austin 4/16), and it would be extremely exciting if y'all were playing somewhere. I'd be a very happy girl.
    I miss Meat!
