After it's first release, V.A. HARDCORE BALL(Re-released on May 25th 2005-RLCA-1075), it spread its name by the hit single of Slang, lead by label owner KO. The next year in 1997, it released HARDCORE BALL 2 (Re-released on May 19th 2004-RLCA-1057) This hit series has continued to its sixth release and boosted the name of Straight Up Records to a nationwide level. Besides hardcore, Straight Up Records has produced bands from a vast genre such as Japanese Skin legend MIBURO and TETTSUI(SLEDGE HANMMER), emotional bands with hardcore influences such as BUFFERINS, and recently New York Hard Core related bands like Box Cutter and Vietnom. Straight Up Records, as a worldwide punk/hardcore label, has been working hard outside the country and has released European and U.S. versions of SLANG, FACE OF CHANGE, MIBURO, BOLLOCKS, and THE JOHNNY BOYS. In exceptional cases, Straight Up Records displayed its passion towards core music by turning sounds of KENJI KUWATA and THA BLUE HERB into CD's for the first time.
