Another Kind Review From Overseas, Someone ready to sign us yet? haha
STONEHELM
Stonehelm is a heavyweight quartet from southern California and more specifically from the city of Ventura. Long-haired / tattooed guys who, since 2008, do not hide their passion for the grass that heals and makes people laugh and who show an unwavering addiction to the music of Electric Wizard. You've probably already realized that we are in the presence of smoked out stoner/doom. And when the musicians are spaced out, our ears pay the price. Hard not to feel crushed against Zack Bickler’s massive rhythms. Dangerous, too, trying to resist the onslaught of distorted bass (Written by John and Recorded by Cody P.) now rocked by Andrew Renteria. Impossible in any case, not to succumb to the groove monolithic riffs balanced by Wes Caley and John Daniels.Like that of his British cousins of Electric Wizard, Stonehelm’s music is painfully heavy and comes with the velocity of a sleepy gastropod. The vocals, provided by Daniels are hazy and hypnotic. They evoke the forbidden pleasures of the dope, the return of the zombie Apocalypse, epic barbarian tales and even the religions of Mars. The artwork of the CD is absolutely magnificent: fiendish occult imagery combined to a pleading to legalize marijuana for therapeutic purposes.Bad luck for those of you who want to support the cause, you will have to wait a bit before you can get this self-titled debut album. Death Earth Records which was the label to publish the record just went under. Stonehelm is seeking a new deal to achieve its ultimate goal: 'Bring marijuana and doom to the Masses'.While waiting for the official release of that smoking plate, Stonehelm has authorized us to publish a link to free download the album, including artwork. Do you want some man? I can get you some! Here: http://rapidshare.com/files/372449535/Stonehelm_20
