    .Steph Pockets is one of Japan's top selling female hip-hop artist / music producer. She started rapping when she was 9 years old. When she was in the 5th grade she took Will Smith to school with her for career day. While attending Temple University (B.S. Mechanical Engineering, 1999) she performed at various music conferences throughout the USA. In 2001 her song "Bum Bum Bum", was used for the film "O" (Julia Stiles and Josh Harnett). She released her albums "My Crew Deep", 2004 and "Flowers", 2005 in Japan. "Flowers" was #5 on the Tower Records Japan Top-10 Hip-Hop list for albums sold in 2005, and both albums made the weekly charts in multiple categories at Tower Records and HMV. Also in 2005 she performed at the Blue Note in Osaka and Nagoya, and sold-out clubs throughout Japan. Steph Pockets produced tracks for A.I. (Life, Party), who went Platinum. Steph also produced tracks for other artist including Aya Ueto (star of "Azumi" movies). Steph's 3rd album, "Can't Give Up", was released in Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan in 2007. "Can't Give Up" was #1 in pre-orders sales by Tower Records, and #7 in the top selling Hip-Hop albums of 2007. The title track, featuring Speech from Arrested Development, was on Japan Airlines' in-flight audio play-list. In 2007 Steph scored a commercial for McDonald's, which still airs worldwide. In 2007 her 4th album, "The Early Works" was released. Nov-Dec 2007 she completed a 16 city sold-out tour of Japan. In Dec '07 Steph headlined the AIDS/HIV charity event "Nippon Jam," presented by the New York Japan Student Association at the Knitting Factory in NYC. Steph's song "Night Life" was featured on the AND1 DVD in Japan Dec '08. In 2009 she released her 5th album, "Friend", and toured throughout Japan (18 shows in 14 cities). She is also featured on a song alongside Sadat X (Brand Nubian), Sonny Cheeba (Camp-Lo) and Anna Tsuchiya (Kamikaze Girls) produced by Volta Masters, that was released March 2011. Steph recently completed her latest album, Forever (Jan. 25, 2012) on Victor Entertainment, Inc. (JVC).
