I call myself Slayve Child “because I am what happened when my ancestors fell down. And I’m here to lead my nation that has been thrown on the back burner back to the top”. Slayve Child. If the name gets your attention the music will stop you in your tracks. Inspired to pick up a mic when a childhood friend was killed in a robbery gone bad, Slayve delivers a rough brand of music which describes the day to day struggles that have become all to prevalent in the 4blocks where he grew up. Because of the experiences he has had in life, Slayve makes it a priority to try to teach the young men and women coming up about life and “the chances we all take in order to get by”. At the same time he teaches the youth about life he also challenges his peers to stand up and be true to themselves no matter who they are. He expresses this in his hit single ‘What Kinda Nigga U Iz’. In the lyrics of this hood anthem Slayve takes an introspective look at the type of man he is and dares the listener to do the same. In life Slayve is influenced by God first and for most. His musical influences include artists such as 2pac, Scareface, N.W.A, Too Short, the Notorious B.I.G, Outkast, Goodie Mob, Sam Cook, Ike and Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Kenny G, and the list goes on and on. Music has been suffering these days with a lack of originality and depth. Slayve Child takes it as his own personal mission to restore Rap music to its heyday and be successful at his passion without sacrificing his artistic expression or his community in the process, following in the footsteps of the greats that came before him. In 2008 Slayve Child has focused on taking the industry by storm. As second in command at G-Fam Music Group, Slayve works with C.E.O Yung Gutta to make an impact in the industry as a label and as an artist. To accomplish this, Slayve and Gutta have become the new dynamic duo creating a buzz by pounding the pavement; hitting every stage, station, and party from West Palm to South Beach. They can be seen almost every day of the week whether it’s performing at a jetski party at a mansion on the beach or at the Hip Hop Grub Spot in Miami. Slayve Child was born and raised in Dade County in the 4blocks area of Miami, Fl. To this day you can still find him hanging out in the hood with new and old friends. In his spare time, Slayve enjoys barbering, a little gambling, and chillin’ with his three princesses; Ashondra, Anitria, and Alana. When not with the girls he likes travelling the world and meeting motivated, and focused people like himself. No matter where he is or what he’s doing you can be sure Slayve Child is always on his grind, making moves, and calling shots.
