SK Radicals were formed 8 years ago. SK Radicals is the brain child of the multi talented, multi instrumentalist Sean Khan. Individually, members of the band have worked with a number of great artists ranging from Roy Ayres, The Jazz Crusaders, Lisa Stansfield to John Stevens, Bugz in the Attic (Macy Gray) Jamiroqui, Clifford Jarvis (John Coltrane), Joy Malcolm (Moby) Kylie Minogue, BB Boogie, Roy, Patricia Khass, Will Young, Robbie Williams, Recloose and very seriously Bony M. The first single, Reachin 4 Da Farside, was released in 2001 and quickly became a 'cult classic' (Adrian Gibson, Jazz Cafe magazine), owing to the success of this 12" the band were offered an album deal by People records. The subsequent album, 'When will we belong', was produced by Bugz in the Attic and established the band as a new force on the music scene. Owing to the success of this record the group performed at some of Europe's major jazz festivals. The group also gained 'cult celebrity status'. And so to the present, after enduring many ups and downs over the ensuing years the band has come back with a new record 'Urban Ecletiks'. The soundscapes and musical textures featured within ..Urban Eclectiks.. will appeal to those who appreciate unabashed musical eclecticism. Rooted in jazz, steeped in soul with an ear cocked to contemporary urban sounds, the SK Radicals join the musical dots beautifully, modern fusion for troubled times. The first single, 'Troubled Times' with a remix from Bugz in the Attic, followed by 'Is this love 4 Real' with a remix from Recloose. This album is an attempt by the band to give their own unique spin on the direction of urban black music. ..Urban Eclectiks.. SK Radicals first Freestyle release is grounded in jazz, but is equally in touch with contemporary soul, R n B and urban beats. This is a record that could only be the product of eclectic listening and our post modern times. At the moment, Sean is keen to reinforce his passion for performing live and has been working with Groovement’s Rui on a live imprint called Jazzment for which he has recorded a jazz álbum. This new jazz record from SEAN KHAN forthcoming early in 2010. He is also producing new artists, in London and also in Portugal. »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» Check the new SK radicals album, 'Urban Eclectics' http://www.kudosrecords.co.uk/index.php?page=detail&product=fsrcd060 »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» REVIEW + REVIEW + REVIEW + REVIEW + REVIEW + REVIEW ============================================ Another superb release from SK Radicals. What they lack in quantity of output they make up for in quality, and "Is This Love 4 Real?" is delicious piece of soulful house for the dancefloor, featuring the all-important combination of solid funky beats, nice fat pads and a sweet vocal. On the flipside Recloose applies some boogie pressure over two strong reworks (vocal and dub) that up the funkiness quota and drop some big organ chords to work the dancefloor.
