"Today the good Dr. Kraft treated Apache, MAC-T, and Cerious. These three wolves have been losing their hair and Dr Kraft has taken a skin biopsy and performed a thryoid test on them. She determined that they need to be on a special diet. Dr Kraft recommends a dog food brand called Pro-Plan: Sensitive Skin and Stomach Diet. In the meantime she is waiting for the results for the biopsy and thryoid test.
At this time the vet expense is up to $1,970.20. Donations are appreciated."
If you can please donate to Howling Acres. They have saved these wolves and do everything they can to make sure they live their lives surrounded by care and love.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that the vet recommended DOG FOOD? And she thinks this will be good for them? GEEZ! What's next...rabies shots? Maybe you just didn't give enough info... people look at others strange for wanting to feed their dogs a species appropriate diet (raw, like wolves eat), now the vet is treating wolves like dogs? Sorry, but that just blew my mind!!!!! Guess I just expected something different from a site that is concerned with WILD animal welfare.
I mean no offense...I'm just baffled. Guess I've just been doing too much research lately, as I have 2 dogs (8 & 9), one of which has seizures occasionally due to vaccine damage...and the other finally is losing weight and is much frisky since both are off the DOG FOOD.
With all respect Kerry whether or not a wolf is wild or is protected and tame within a sanctuary is of no difference to us. STW's is here to campaign for all wolves not just the wild ones.
The fact of the matter is that if a vet that is professional, well respected and has helped Howling Acres in past then ofcourse they will listen to the sound advice they recieve.
