I was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica in a town called Granville where i grew up with my mother, father and brothers (me being the middle child) I spent the majority of my childhood in Granville with my family listening to all types of music. After my father past away I migrated to Miami, Florida (USA) as a young child to live with some relatives. My older brother Kirk Douglas at the time started to DeeJay. It was then that i discovered my interest in music. As the years went by I became more and more interested in what my brother was doing. In, 1996 I encountered "Specialist" (a localreggae promoter & music production legend) and started producing astist such as Mr.Vegas, Bounty Killa, Capleton, Diplomat and many more. As a producer I spent more and more time in the studio and began writing music. As a writer I was longing to voice my own lyrics, so then I became an artist & started recording music under the alias "DRE-Z". I released my first song in 2001 entitled "SKIING ON ICE," on the "Diamond Chips Rhythm". In 2007 I moved back to Montego Bay,Jamaica to own and operate my own recording studio and persue my music career a little further by starting SAMPLE RAGE RECORDS. My mother then became ill and passed away in November of that year. My passion for music was the only thing that helped me get through my loss. With no one to confide in or turn to for emotional support, the expressionist in me became alive as i spent day & night in my studio honing my skills,lyrics & flow to perfection. My latest single "PRISONERS OF BABYLON" on the "Natural Stream Rhythm" is just a small taste of where "Dre Z" is coming from (philosophically) and where he is planning to go (emotionally) with my music. My Number one dream and goal is to inspire each individual with the strong messages conveyed through my music. I would also love if one day I could leave behind all my accomplishments as a foundation for my children to help make their journeys toward success much easier than mine has been so that they will one day be a greater inspiration to all............... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ......
