'96年、ヴォーカリスト・畠山美由紀とギタリスト・小島大介によりポート・オブ・ノーツを結成。'97年、EP『Port of Notes』でCDデビュー。現在までに４枚のオリジナル・アルバムを発表。
'01年、POLA化粧品のTV CMソングとして「With This Affection」が、'02年「Sailing To Your Love」、'03年に「Those My Old Days」が使用される。同年12月、松任谷由実30周年カバー・アルバム『Queen's Fellows』に参加、翌年1月、日本武道館で行われたYuming Tribute Concert “Queen's Fellows”に出演。'04年に発売された、3rdアルバム『Evening Glow』では、松任谷由実の参加も話題となった。 '08年2月、デビュー10周年を記念して、自身の選曲に新曲を加えたベスト盤『Blue Arpeggio～Own Best Selection～“青いアルペジオの歌”』をリリース。 '09年、全曲NY録音、Jesse Harrisプロデュースによる5年振りのオリジナル・アルバム『Luminous Halo～燦然と輝く光彩～』 をリリース、8年振りの全国ツアー “Luminous Halo” Tour 2009"を開催。
2010年、全国26カ所を超える各地でメンバ－２人による歌とギターだけのアコースティックツアー "まちのおと" を開催した。
