    .... .... ..OOOD - How deep can you bleep?.... .. OOOD will be a familiar name to both those with long memories, and to relative newcomers to trance. Formed in the UK in 1994 and with 4 members since 2001 (Colin, Steve, Rama, Ryokan), they've been around for as long as there's been psytrance and have worked with many of the names and labels from the scene's long history, as well as producing some of Goa Trance's classic tracks on labels like Flying Rhino, Phantasm and Matsuri. A few quiet years in the early 2000s saw them retreat to the Stooodio after their first two albums were caught up in the bankruptcy of two different distributors but they never gave up, and their eclectic third album 'Free Range' (Organic, 2006) was regarded by many reviewers as one of the very best psytrance releases that year. Two years later they released 'Fourthought' (Phar Psyde, 2008), an 80-minute psychedelic journey through downtempo, breaks, electro, blues and a varied selection of psytrance; again the album attracted '11/10 A+' reviews and saw them consolidate their place as one of the few acts from the birth of the scene who are still actively contributing... .. As well as the originality, sense of fun and excellent production they bring to their releases, OOOD have been praised for their live sets since their London debut in 1995. Now, with four people in the band they are unique for the way they use live instruments (guitar, drums, keyboards, percussion) as an integral part of their live set, and have gained a reputation for both the power and quality of their live sound, and the vibrancy of their performances. Events such as Boom (Portugal), Universo Paralello (Brazil), Gemini (USA), Fusion (Germany), Glade (UK) and Vortex (South Africa), and many others in Japan, Russia and across Europe and elsewhere are seeing how OOOD and their side-projects create a unique energy and connection with the audience. OOOD live is different every time but these guys know what they're doing and they put on a hell of a show... .. OOOD have been surfing the wave of their creativity for over 15 years now and have been described as having "matured and improved with time, in the manner of a fine wine" (Axis Mundi). Their mission has always been to have a good time, spread a little joy and write the best tunes they can; if you've heard them or seen them recently you'll know just how well they have succeeded... .. .. .. ..News.... .. The latest news is that the band have been playing regularly in the UK and have been working hard on new material, inspired by Ryokan's return from 2 years in Japan and Steve's recent 6 months in India. All four of them now live in the same city and they seem determined to push their boundaries ever further with their next album; their recent dancefloor tracks span the bpm range from 110 to 150 and include some of their best psytrance work to date and the stunning electro/psy/techno track 'Frogology', title track of on the VA of the same name from Frogadelic Records (the label of the Tribe of Frog organisation in the UK). Also coming out soon is the track 'Little Big Life', to be released on the debut VA from Broken Records, and a digital EP on Broken Robot Records... .. Colin has been mastering albums for labels such as Zenon and Devils Mind, as well as Tim Healey's latest album "Unstoppable" (Farm Records, 2009) and individual tracks by artists such as Hujaboy, Aerospace, NASA and Filteria, amongst many others. At present he is in-house mastering engineer for four labels (Phar Psyde, Devils Mind, Cronomi, Sun Station) and several independantly-releasing artists; his mastering is also rapidly developing a reputation outside the trance scene. Ryo, Steve and Rama have been ripping up dancefloors all over with DJ sets in a wide range of styles and were openers at many UK festivals last summer, as well as playing peak-time sets at Tribe of Frog, Broken and other UK parties... .. ..Recent and upcoming gigs.... .. After a small warm-up gig in Glastonbury, OOOD played to a packed and enthusiastic crowd on the main-stage at sunset on the last day of Universo Paralello 10 in Brazil, as well as a live set in the chillout on New Years Eve, for which they were joined on stage by Bill Halsey (aka Cosmosis). A tour of Japan is being finalised for this year, and the band will be performing twice at Boom Festival 2010, including a unique synchronised performance of a specially-commissioned film soundtrack. OOOD are also this year's headline international booking for Gemini Festival in California, one of the USA's longest-running and best-loved psytrance events, and will be playing a variety of live and DJ sets across the festival. In the UK, Sunrise, Nozstock and Waveform festivals are amongst those who have invited OOOD to perform this year, with more to be confirmed - watch this space!.. .. .. .. ..OOOD on CD...... .. ..aLIVE... and Kicking.... The first OOOD album ....aLIVE.... was released on Cabbaged Records (UK) in 1997 and was probably the first ever live album released as a debut by a psy-trance act. A stunning exposition of the unique psychedelic sound of OOOD, the album was recorded live - and we mean LIVE - at parties across the UK including Pagan's fabled New Years Eve party, Science Fiction and Otherworld at the Fridge in London. Many years after its release this seminal album is still sought after by trance-heads across the world..... .. ..Breathing Space... Refining the formula.... Two years after their debut album came OOOD's second long player ....Breathing Space..... Ranging from full-on neuro bashing psychedelia to utter ambient via dub and chilled breaks, Breathing Space ventured beyond class A dancefloor mayhem to include the mellower side of OOOD's sonic headspace. Showcasing the dramatic effect a studio upgrade can have, the album marked a step-change in the quality of OOOD's productions and was released independently on OOOD Records distrubuted by MRL (aka. Kukomi). Now also a collector's item, copies of the CD have sold for silly money on eBay (although you can apparently still buy it in Tower Records in Tel Aviv)..... .. ..Free Range... No dancefloor is safe.... Over a year after it was first announced, and after 6 years of work, their third album ....Free Range.... was released on Organic Records in late 2006. Although aimed solidly at the dancefloor, this is more than a straight-ahead trance album (as the title suggests), and - with a fresh infusion of inspiration from the new members - sees once more a great improvement in production values alongside OOOD's trademark unique storytelling style and sense of humour. An indication of things to come, the title track was released to much acclaim on the Organic Records compilation 'Invasion from Hyperspace', and was sub-licensed to Jon '00' Fleming's 'White Label Republic' compilation..... .. ..Fourthought... Fourwarned is fourarmed.... Two years in the studio and a new partnership with Phar Psyde Records brought forth ....Fourthought...., OOOD's fourth album and Phar Psyde's fourth release. The fourth is strong in this one, and quotes from the reviews will describe it better than promo blurb ever can: "..With Fourthought, the greatness of their best work seems to have infected the entire album.."... "..This album gets an 11/10 for its diversity, for its energy and most of all for its very good engineering and programming..."... "..In short, not one song here comes close to average. All four members have been DJing extensively, with Steve, Ryo, and Rama packing out dancefloors and backrooms all over and Colin playing sets consisting mostly of his own projects and collaborations. Whilst they are more than capable of rocking any main room or chillout for a short two hours, they are fond of playing back-to-back and are noted for specialising in the extended 'journey' type sets currently in such short supply, as shown by their recent residency at Tribe Of Frog in Bristol, for which the Collective regularly provided the music all night in one of the rooms. These recordings have been carefully handmade in the finest tooled leather. Maximum use of household electricity in conjunction with specially developed Fluorostani wacka-wacka modelling techniques have enabled us to produce a port resonance perfectly centred in the binomial width-enhancer matrix. Lovevalve parameters have been carefully adjusted so that the MIDI controllable toggle/boggle delay switch glitch control gives nominal impedance with an ergonomic design which is also pleasing to the eye, and the Venus Flytrap front baffle loading coefficient ensures perfect Rhapsalidopses every spring with careful pruning. Minimising perceptual jitter in this way is known to make the music smell really loud..... Old-fashioned stereophonic technology allied with the newest hydroponic speaker designs have given us total harmonic control, and given you total listening pleasure; the monitors used on this project were homemade using the latest in paper/shred hemp technology, string and water. Three static flange injectors and deep folly joyloading have meant that the influence of German satellite TV has been kept to an absolute maximum, and we used a squeaky hammer for the snare drum on a track that's not actually on this album... .... .. .... .... ..

Funk, humour and an open-minded approach to psychedelic dance music combine with a distinctive production style 14 years in the making, creating a main-room sound that's fresh and unique whilst remaining accessible. Taking influences from across the spectrum of the current trance scene and beyond, including prog, full-on, goa and good honest psytrance as well as breakbeat, dub, electro and house, their recordings add class to any DJs set. On stage, their performances are more live than most, adding live guitar, acoustic and electronic drums and percussion, keyboards, samples and general wierdness to make a show that provides the best of both worlds - a musical extravaganza with a strong visual impact.
