Biography .. Worked and recorded with three-time Grammy nominee Frank Stepanek (Black Uhuru). Core members formed the band in 2001 while working together in production at an outdoor 20,000 seat amphitheater, realizing that if they could prep, set and tear down touring acts from around the globe, they could certainly do it for themselves. Hey, remember how The Dead Kennedys sang songs like "Holiday in Cambodia" and "Kill the Poor" to shock and offend people while simultaneously making them think about and question society? That's where My Penis is coming from, with songs of ancestral guilt and going to Afghanistan. Then again, they have a song about masturbating to pictures of your mom, so maybe they're just sick f***s. Either way, "Just Like Bukowski" is the feel good song of the year (all two months of it): "Lost my money at the dog track / Just like Bukowski / Bought a cheap whore and want my money back / Just like Bukowski / My cheeks are pocked and my jaw is slack / Just like Bukowski." Chuck would've dug it anyway. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last Exit Last Exit of the Lost Ithaca Radio Show Last Exit is playing a band called My Penis, and so I'm sure that you can just imagine how many jokes that inspired on air!, and the My Penis jokes just kept right on coming (yes, that's right, I said My Penis and "coming", there's one of those jokes right there!) all night long (My Penis, coming all night long! there's another), I'm sure you can easily get the picture from all these jokes that arise (My Penis, arise! *snicker*) from my just trying to relate this for you! And that's how it was all night long, My Penis jokes, both on the air, and a lot more in the chat room. They sounded just like their mp3's and were just as entertaining and lively. Spot-on. So if you like their songs...on their www.myspace.com/mypenis site, you'll like them live. Growly vocals from the lead singer, growly riffs from the rest of the band, and the drummer poured his soul into every hit of his skins. Great chorus too, especially on thier "Bukowski" song. They were a little faster live than I expected though...but it worked well and sounded great. You can tell they really love their stuff too. I've seen alot of bands around here, these guys put their hearts into it more than any other band I've seen. It really did remind me of a Jello Biafra sound, maybe I'm crazy.
