Current mood:
frisky
This summer has seemed like a strange endless saturday morning.
The heat has slowed things down, and not much seems to be getting done.
Oddly it has been productive.
Our 4th album is well underway. Its about half finished and I'm hoping for a November release date.
I'm working with new harmony singers and that has slowed the pace.
But it's been exciting and the new voices have me filled with ideas and a new perspective.
The new album is closer to our live show. I always get excitable live haha
I play harder and faster. I imagine that tells you something about me haha
I perhaps should get out more!
Over the last couple months I remixed and remastered three previous songs.
One radically..... I was really pleased with "Lost in Ohio", but felt I needed more mood and less talk. I removed the vocals on the verse and added in my little army of guitars.
I'm really happy with the new mix and would love to hear what Y'all think.
I also trimmed down "Taking my Time". I had so much fun with the album mix.
I added in conversations between Hill and myself recorded during our vocal tacking, a synth solo with an old moog, and a few other layered instruments.
The heart of this song to me, was the bass line. I loved this bass line! I wanted it to be more central to the mix and did just that.
Have a listen and let me know what ya think!
Lastly, I remixed "Katie come home" completely. This was the last song mastered on "Everyone's Banned" and I felt after words I ran out of steam and it wasn't as it should be. I trimmed some excess harmonies, cleaned up some sloppiness and am liking it!
