POWER THE WORLD FOR HAITI Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, has 8 million people with no access to modern energy. Linkin Park and Music for Relief have pledged to support the UN Secretary-General's Sustainable Energy for All Initiative in 2012 through Power the World. Power the World is committed to help raise awareness about energy access, highlighting solutions and providing ways for people to get involved. Our latest project in Haiti aims to bring clean energy to 1 million families. You can make a donation at http://www.powertheworld.org to support clean energy for a family in Haiti with no access to modern electricity. For every $10 donated Power the World will give one solar powered light bulb to a family in Haiti. Your donation will improve the quality of life for a family by lighting their home and enabling children to study, families to read, and all to feel safe and healthy. MUSIC FOR RELIEF seeks to bring the music community together to maximize the efforts to create awareness and raise funds for those in need. MUSIC FOR RELIEF is comprised of musicians, fans, and music industry professionals. Founded by the band Linkin Park, Music for Relief is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing aid to victims of natural disasters and the prevention of such disasters. Since its inception in 2005, Music for Relief has raised over $5 million for the victims of the tsunami tragedy in Southeast Asia, hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Hanna, Gustav & Ike, Wildfires in Southern California and Victoria Australia, Cyclones Sidr and Aila in Bangladesh, Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar, the 5.12 earthquake in China, the cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe, a tornado in Mena, Arkansas, the 2010 Haiti Earthquake, China's Wenchuan Earthquake, Monsoon Flooding in Pakistan, and the 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan. MFR has organized a benefit concert featuring multi-platinum artists, sent musicians and volunteers to Southeast Asia and the U.S. Gulf Coast to help rebuild and donate supplies to people in need, and planted over 1 million trees to help reduce global warming.
