FIRST OF ALL THE METAL QUEEN DORO

Dorothee Pesch in 1983 leaves her band Snakebite to join a
young Heavy Metal Band called Warlock. As years past they
soon hit off grand!
In 1988 Warlock come off the road after a triumphant world
tour.This time parting ways with their drummer Michael
Eurich and their guitarist Niko Arvanitis and replacing
them with guitarist Jon Devin and ex-Rainbow drummer Bobby
Rondinelli.The band entered the studio at the end of the
year to record a new record with Joey Balin once again
producing. This was to have been the fifth Warlock album,
but after some legal hang ups concerning the Warlock name,
the band decided to continue on as DORO and making this
the first DORO PESCH solo album and making it the
beginning of a new epic chapter in DORO's life.
Starting with her first solo album "Force Majeure".Doro
as started a epic experience and has given a great name to
the all the metal chicks out there. In March Doro plays
her first U.S. concert in 10 years at the March Metal
Meltdown II in New Jersey. She is considered to be one of
the bright spots of the two day event, as anticipation
build for her return to the US.
On August 19th, 2002 the new album "FIGHT" is released and
it bears its title with justification. DORO has once again
come up with an offering full of female power and musical
expressiveness that consits of as many stories as the
songs.
Doro is a truely inspiring woman warrior to all of us.

Kelly Johnson


Musican and songwriter in Britain's first all-girl heavy metal band

Kelly Johnson was born on the 20th of June in 1958 and grew up in London. Hitting the Age of 19 she got into the music Valhalla. Formed in 1977 an all-girl heavy metal band was formed called the Painted Lady. After a reshuffle of its members, our determined and devoted Kelly joined as lead guitarist and songwriter and the band’s name was changed to Girlschool. She was a songwriter, playing lead guitar and singing both lead and backing vocals on the group's first four albums, before leaving in 1983 to live and work in Los Angeles. Usually dressed in a leather jacket and jeans, she had deep desires to write songs that would be popular with music fans who had begun to catch on to the new wave of British heavy metal sweeping through the UK. Supporting rock legends like Motorhead on tour in 1979 it led to an enduring collaboration, including the St Valentine’s Day Massacre EP released by the two groups under the name Headgirl.

She rejoined Girlschool in 1993 til 2000 and playing on til one further studio album and a live album. Kelly Johnson passed away on Sunday 15 July 2007, aged 49, after a six-year battle against spinal cancer.

At early gigs their set also included covers of
Black Sabbath (with Dio and Ozzy), Kiss, AC/DC, Twisted Sister, WASP, Grave Digger, Quiet Riot, Judas Priest, Running Wild, Manowar, Venom, Piledriver tracks which have been the main influences of their music.
The band follows the heavy/traditional power metal line. Their first demo was "Choose your Side", released in october 2003 with two songs: "Choose your Side" and "Other Life". This demo album had more than a thousand copies all over Brazil and abroad.
