ABOUT MEARONE
My thoughts on art have revolved around the "Idea" first and foremost, The IDEA, in the sense of a mental overstanding in some subject matter and how it will be expressed. Visions of art start as some form in the mind and through complicated means the work manifests through the hands into this three dimensional reality. It is mysterious whether the idea originates in the mind or does it already exist, for example, the chair. Was the chair an ingenious idea the ancients developed to comfort them selves or was the chair always existing, waiting for some bright human to come along and bring it from where ever it came to where it now exist. Brings new questions to the reason or purpose of the artist., questions like; why are some artist and others not, and who defines these concepts. Society gets its heads stuck on the blinders quite often and we all like to agree but as any one who asks these questions ponders long enough the way we perceive art and artist changes. The "Idea" it self is a strange concept, where does it come from? The mind is a storage computer that records all kinds of information and some is immediately useful while some falls into the sub conscious. Readily available information is chosen when we utilize it but the sub levels affect us in ways we find our selves quite often unaware of. Ideas that awaken us some time are a shock because we dont know where they come from. I believe we are like transistor receivers and some of our mind is wirelessly connected to the collective consciousness. Our environment is a information creating machine creating information continuously and constantly. We are being inundated on a continual time clock, so with that in mind it gives a perspective on what we are all supposed to be doing. As an artist I find my purpose to pay attention to my surrounding and translate it into contextual information that we can dialog around.
