It all started in the late 80’s. I was like 12 years old when I found a tape called ‘Dr. Acid & Mr. House’. Already Italo Disco fan, I plugged in forever since then! Later on, I was composing my first tracks with the ‘Protracker’ soft (Commodore ‘Amiga’, 4 tracks, 8 bits!) under the nickname ‘Chinook’.
During the mid 90’s, I started as a DJ under the name of ‘Tchiko’.
Sitting on radio shows as ‘Culture Dance’ (Radio Framboise) or ‘Métissages’ (Couleur 3), regularly on Meyrin FM (Back on Plastic), ‘One FM’ or ‘Rhône FM’, I performed all around french speaking Switzerland in places like ‘Montreux Casino’, ‘Palladium’, ‘New Morning’, ‘Rêve d’Ô’, ‘Ancien Palais’, and many others.
As I had neglected a bit the composition aspect during that period, I came back in force around 2004, working on PC, first with ‘Modplug’, then with ‘Fruity Loops’. Since 2009 I work mainly on ‘Adobe Audition 3' and ‘FL Studio’ (with some great vst!), supported by ‘Roland', 'Jomox', ‘AKG' and 'Behringer' Hardwares.
I was surrounded by music from a young age; when I was only 2 I knew already by heart many Disco hits (special mention to 'Michael Zager Band - Let's All Chant' but also ‘El Coco' or ‘Boney M.’, among others) and Italian pop songs (Adriano Celentano, Jimmy Fontana, Nico Fidenco, ...). I like almost all styles of music, as long as they can arouse emotions. The music I listen to depends on the phase I’m going through; I can perfectly listen to Reggaeton every day for 3 months and switch to a classical music period. I’ve listened to a lot of French and American Hip-Hop for a while. I also have a lot of memories about the Latin-American music (Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, folk music from Argentina or Colombia). But the stream that I have been the most loyal to and that accompanies me through life, apart from electronic music, is Afro-American music, from the beginnings until today (Funk, Soul, R&B, see my section “Singers”). I'm not necessarily against commercial music or Pop, but I'm very selective! *************************************************************************

Ayant délaissé la composition pendant cette période, je m'y remets de plus belle vers 2004, sur PC, d'abord sur ‘Modplug', puis sur ‘Fruity Loops’. Depuis 2009 je bosse principalement avec ‘Adobe Audition 3’ et ‘FL Studio’ (avec les petits vst qui vont bien!), épaulé par du matériel ‘Roland', 'Jomox', ‘AKG' et 'Behringer'. Je baigne dans la musique depuis mon plus jeune âge, puisque vers 2 ans je connaissais déjà par coeur des tubes Disco (mention spéciale à 'Michael Zager Band - Let's All Chant' mais aussi ‘El Coco', ‘Boney M.’ et d'autres ..) ou des chansons de variété italienne (Adriano Celentano, Jimmy Fontana, Nico Fidenco, ..). J'aime à peu près tous les styles de musique, pour peu que j'y ressente des émotions. Je fonctionne par périodes, je peux tout-à-fait écouter du Reggaeton tous les jours pendant 3 mois et passer à une période de musique classique. J'ai aussi écouté énormément de Hip-Hop, français et américain. J'ai beaucoup de souvenirs sur de la musique latine (Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, musique folklorique d'Argentine ou de Colombie), mais le courant auquel je suis le plus fidèle et qui m'accompagne en permanence dans la vie, à part la musique éléctronique, est la musique afro-américaine, de ses débuts jusqu'à aujourd'hui (principalement Funk, Soul, R&B, c.f. rubrique ‘SINGERS’). Je ne suis pas forcément hermétique à la musique commerciale ou Pop, mais je suis très sélectif! *************************************************************************
