"No somos Maquinas, fuego a las maquinas, somos La Mâquina"…it seems a non-sense but when you brutally hear this, the punk sound and the neverending passion, everything is alright. 7 artists form "La Mâquina", 7 guys with different background, thousands of stage rocked and barricade broken down. They are aware that revolution won't ever be broadcast on Tv, our lobotomization of course…slowly, day by day. When you are down on your luck and you're really down and out, don't worry because we're going to find a way out. Despite this we will continue on our way! "La Mâquina" is an anti-manifesto group, they speak with their heart not with empty slogan. What they sing is subtle, nearly poetic. Like the almighty "The Clash" and "Mano Negra" they play a heavy combat rock and like those bands they always try to reinvent the music, mixing different styles and genres: the result in the end is pure coherence. "La Mâquina" born from the beginning with an international vocation, not only because the members pay taxes in their home countries (of course if they pay) and live in different countries: guys from Catalunya and Itay met in Euskadi to record an album that will overcome the borders that will bring their music out from north to south, between East and West, changing continent and tongue more than one time in the same song. Let's introduce the members now. First of all on stage we can find the two vocalists: Sandokan and Rude, well-known music fighter of the Italian underground scene. Rude is a damn punk soul that in Bologna broaden his horizon to Reggae, Hip-Hop and other bastard street sounds, whether with his own sound-system or as an aide or remixer of artist like Manu Chao, Fermin Muguruza, Kinky Beat or Roy Paci. Sandokan was the trombonist of the Dub Manifest of Fermin Muguruza and is currently trombonist of Banda Bassotti, a perfect example of real passion for music. Directly from Catalunya we have 4 artists, rather young but with a fucking great experience all over the world. Most of them (Aureli, Xarli, Joan) played in a Cassà-de-la Selva-band called "Burman Flash", originally a ska-band then became a patchanka mestiza band. Angel Abad, the drummer, is a real war machine, a respected artist that already played in bands such as Kitsch, Möondo, Gazpacho, Discípulos de Otilia. Angel drum together with Xarli bass and Joan Ciuriana percussions provide a unique eclectic rhythm base that switch continuously from rock to reggae, from latin to punk in an inimitable meltin-pot. 6 musicians in the heart of the La Maquina but…did we talk about 7 guys?! Who's the last one?! His name is Xaplin and is the manager, founding member and first inspirer of the band. He is the director of "Laclau Produciones" and he knows very well what he does: he knows what "La Maquina" needs to rock the world and despite the kilometers that separate the different member, and this crisis that seems to kill ever new project, especially if is in the music business, he decided to bet on this project and put all his effort on it to create this extraordinary ensemble. Until now "La Mâquina" worked perfectly, a silent but noisy work. Its members worked in the shadows and when these few lines will reach you, the band will be already start to conquer the world. When you will have the chance to see the band live, you will understand what we talk about. La Mâquina has just recorded his firsts tracks at the Garate Studio of Andoain in Euskadi with the help of the expert hands of Kaki Arkarazo. The mixing is now in progress on the "sala Ultramarinos" in Costa Brava and in San Feliu de Guíxols (Girona) by Santi Garcia. But now the time is over…it's time to let the music rock out…it's time to start the engine of La Maquina…and be ready…let the sky falls down!!!.. .. .... .. .. ........ .. .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ........ ...... .. ......Presenta:...... ..ACCIÓN.. ....Siete hombres contra La Mâquina (Ahora el cielo temblará) No somos máquinas, fuego a la máquina, somos La Mâquina... Parece una contradicción, pero cuando oyes las frases escupidas a todo trapo, con aceleración punk y una pasión incendiaria, todo tiene sentido. Los siete hombres detrás de La Mâquina (ahora los presentaremos, uno a uno: éste es un grupo de potentes individualidades) són gente curtida en mil escenarios y unas cuantas barricadas. Por eso saben que la revolución no será televisada, pero sí la alienación nuestra de cada día. La cosa está mal, muy mal, pero al final encontraremos una salida. Aunque sea cuesta arriba iremos palante. La Mâquina, con circunflejo, no es un grupo panfletario, sus canciones no te llenan la cabeza de consignas. Su propuesta es mucho más sutil, casi poética. O sin el casi. Éste es un grupo de combat rock como lo eran los Clash y Mano Negra. Como estas bandas clásicas, La Mâquina pone la música al mismo nivel que las ideas, y el resultado final es extremadament coherente. El grupo nace con vocación internacionalista, no sólo porque sus miembros pagan impuestos y se cabrean normalmente en países diferentes: catalanes y italianos se encuentran en Euskadi para grabar un disco que no conoce fronteras, que se mueve sin descanso entre norte y sur, entre oriente y occidente, cambiando de continente y de idioma más de una vez dentro de un mismo tema. Y ahora hablemos de los implicados. Para empezar, éste es un grupo con dos grandes vocalistas, no dos berreadores cualesquiera. Sandokan y Rude son dos experimentados combatientes del underground italiano. Desde su más tierna juventud en la Bolonia de principios de los ochenta, Rude es un punk de corazón que fue abriendo su mente hacia el reggae, el hip-hop y otros sonidos bastardos de la calle, con su propio sound system y como colaborador y remezclador de Manu Chao, Fermin Muguruza o La Kinky Beat. Y Sandokan ha sido trombonista del Dub Manifest de Muguruza y todavía lo es de la Banda Bassotti, todo un ejemplo de activismo musical. Buenas credenciales. Por la parte catalana, cuatro músicos algo más jóvenes, pero con experiencia y conocimiento de su oficio. La mayoría (Aureli, Xarli, Joan) han pasado por un grupo de Cassà de la Selva (Girona) llamado Burman Flash, nacido en el ska y crecido en otros sonidos mestizos. Aureli, el guitarrista, saltó después a Net Flanders, donde podía rascar las cuerdas más fuerte, ya preparándose para La Mâquina. Todo un personaje el batería, Angel Abad, un todoterreno y un gran profesional, en el buen sentido de la palabra, que ha tocado con grupos muy diferentes: Kitsch, Möondo, Gazpacho, Discípulos de Otilia... La batería de Angel suma con el bajo de Xarli y las percusiones de Joan Ciurana una base rítmica dura como la vida, pero también llena de detalles y sutilezas, que brillan sobre todo en los temas de aires jamaicanos y latinos. Cita de Santana: "Oye cómo va su ritmo... bueno pa' matar" (mulata). Seis músicos en el corazón de La Mâquina, pero hablábamos de siete hombres. ¿Quién es el séptimo implicado? Se llama Xapling y es el mánager, "el capo del grupo", su primer ideólogo. Dirige Laclau Producciones y conoce bien el terreno: sabía qué piezas necesitaba esta máquina y cómo podía funcionar a pesar de las distancias entre sus miembros (en el mundo de internet todo es posible) y de esta crisis absurda que parece desaconsejar cualquier nuevo proyecto, sobre todo si se trata de música. Pues no: contra la parálisis generalizada, nada mejor que las ganas de salir adelante, con imaginación. De momento, La Mâquina ha funcionado intensamente pero casi nadie se ha enterado. Sus miembros han estado trabajando en la sombra y, cuando esta carta llegue a su destino, el grupo acabará de hacer sus primeras presentaciones en público. Cuando escucheis el disco y veais al grupo en directo, notareis en seguida que aquí se ha trabajado a conciencia, invirtiendo muchos esfuerzos y recursos: La Mâquina ha grabado sus primeras canciones en los estudios Garate de Andoain (Guipúzcoa), que dirige todo un maestro del sonido, Kaki Arkarazo, y las mezclas se han realizado en los estudios Ultramarinos Costa Brava, de San Feliu de Guíxols (Girona), también al mando de otro sabio, Santi Garcia. Con estos ingredientes, la calidad está garantizada. Y ahora, que se acaben las palabras y se active La Mâquina.
