    To be a fan of Kiryn is to have an appreciation for the truth and reality that embodies what they are, and what they produce as a band. Once four musicians, separated by four individual paths, now bound together to form one sound. Beginning with something as simple as a sibling pairing and evolving into a group of souls with one purpose. Denise Le (vocals), Vinh Le (keyboard, guitar), Anthony Hoblit (bass guitar), and Jimmy Chang (percussion) are the members of the band. However, to call them “the band” is almost too simple. There is an exceptional collaboration within Kiryn, resulting from the precise and timely crossing of their lives. Denise and Vinh Le are first generation children of the United States, raised for their youngest years in North Carolina, then Florida, by parents newly from Vietnam. Described best now by an old photograph of them sitting together as children at a keyboard, their chemistry is the seed of what Kiryn is. Denise began using her voice at an early age, taking singing as seriously as a kid could be expected to, never with a desire to do anything significant with it. Vinh’s exploration of music started early as well, with lessons in guitar and a natural progression of his talent with different instruments up through High School and College. However, in a different way from Denise, his desire to pursue music is what led him to focus on it throughout his schooling. It wasn’t until a visit from Denise at Vinh’s college in 2003 that they wrote their first song together and realized their potential as a duo. Shortly thereafter, in 2004, Denise met, and introduced to Vinh, a management CEO who would give them their first opportunity to do what came naturally. The two then formed “Something Phonetic”, their first project, as an exploration into what they had to offer to the hip hop music industry. With Vinh producing behind Denise’s fresh vocals, she then realized that this is what she loved doing, and that she had to use the talent she was given. As they began playing out, the two realized the need for support from additional musicians to supplement their live shows. It was then that bassist Anthony Hoblit auditioned and became a member. He had been in various bands and had pursued a desire to make music since his childhood in Ohio and then Florida. Through experimentation into what was exactly right for the band, a few musicians came and went. It was then that Anthony introduced them to his long time friend Jimmy Chang. Jimmy was then brought on board as Kiryn’s drummer and percussionist. These four core members are who they are today. After meshing well as a band, and playing a few shows, the band came to the realization of a desire to explore different styles and genres altogether. Being truer to themselves and their unique talents, they dropped their management, hip-hop music, and their name. In 2005, the band then became Kiryn. For about the next year Kiryn spent their time writing, producing, and recording their E.P. and is on the verge of bringing us a completely new experience in music. They are an emerging talent, from which fans can expect an original approach to recording and production, and a completely diverse selection of songs that offer tastes from various inspirations, ranging from Alternative and Electronic to the soft personal vocal selections that can connect on different levels. Denise’s voice has a distinct kind of sound driving it, and the music the band creates supports it; and there is clear beauty that comes from the partnership that is evident in every song.
