.. .. Kazuko Baba, a Pianist & Composer, move to Japan after she performed in clubs and concerts in New York City for 9 years. The second album will be released by Whats New Records in Japan which recorded with Reggie Workman (bass) , David Williams (bass) Leroy Williams (Drums) and Satoshi Inoue (Guitar), produced by Kunle Mwanga. The first album ai is released by Playscape Recordings in USA in July 2002, available in Europe, Canada, Japan and others. It is recorded with Yosuke Inoue (bass) and Taro Koyama (drums) who changed her carrier in music, and produced by Kunle Mwanga and herself. She tours in Japan with her own trio annually, her compositions and performances are recognized with their uniqueness and new ideas. She was born in Japan. She was encouraged to play piano by her music loving mother and took her first piano lesson at the age of four. Her teacher recognized her extraordinary musical ability after her first several lessons. She graduated college with a major in classical music, continue to the graduate program there, and completed as an honored student. She was one of the best pianists and gained attentions as a brilliant soloist and accompanist. She started to play as a professional pianist while she was in college. After graduating, she began to learn jazz which took her heart while she was studying classical piano in college. And she started playing jazz at leading jazz clubs in her city and concerts soon after that. In 1997, she moved to New York to study at the New School University. She started to study jazz piano and composition with Michele Rosewoman (piano, composition) and Buster Williams (bass), jazz ensemble with Reggie Workman (bass) Chico Hamilton (drums) and Jimmy Owens (trumpet). She graduated in 1999 (BFA in Jazz and Contemporary Music.)
