.. .................. .. .. .. .. .. .. The KASH Boys are an undeniably fresh and unique talent when they are considered in the Australian hip-hop scene. KASH consists of two best friends, Kagiso (K.G) and Shaka (Young Shak), with South African heritage yet who were born and raised in Australia. The name KASH represents a combination of the best talents of each member; Kag’s (KA-) strong and determined business sense and desire to achieve something larger than life; Shaka’s (-SH) supreme and unique lyrical talents and extraordinary imagination. The guys draw their inspiration from the best artists in the game, such as Jay-Z, Nas, Fabolous, and Lupe Fiasco. .... The KASH Boys were formed in 2002. Both the guys played lead rolls for the 2002 St Edmunds Rock Eisteddfod. This set them upon the path of higher musical achievement. Since then their musical careers have flourished. The guys made a move to Melbourne to work with known hip-hop producer Israel (Roadshow / Sony BMG), Kyle, and the Elite Fleet, and this was to be the start of a lucrative and productive relationship. Under the tutelage of Israel, the guys were able to produce unique demo records and high energy tracks that could get anyone pumped. Through the Elite Fleet the guys were given the opportunity to feature on two major hit singles, ‘Old Skool Luv’ by Israel (Australian top 20), and ‘Turn It Up - Remix’ by Kyle. .... Since working in Melbourne, the guys took their act on tour around the country. Performing in clubs, at major parties, pre-acts for other major events and concerts, it quickly becomes obvious that KASH has a truly distinctive style of stage presence that excites and entertains any crowd they are put on stage in front of. No other hip-hop act around the country entwines such flair, lyrical prowess, entertainment value and high energy dance routines all into a two man set. The KASH abilities extend beyond just singing and rapping but to complicated choreography routines as well. Routines that have crowds in a state of awe and amazement and begging for more. .... While on the road since 2005, KASH managed to find the time to produce their debut single, ‘Move It’. This was released through Modern Music / Sony BMG and was received by the public with great anticipation. In 2006, KASH teamed up with youth movement powerhouse, Kulture Break, where they received spiritual guidance and grew a large support network, and were given the opportunity to work on a Kulture Break collaboration titled, ‘The Valley Project’ (JWalker Records). .... After KASH finished work with Kulture Break, they teamed up again with Israel and New Zealand producer, Vince Harder, for some fresh production and to complete their debut album, ‘The Birth’, which they had been secretly working on since 2005. This album has been met with nothing but praise, including glowing reviews by R’n’B sensation Muthu who says that this album is “nothing like Australia has ever heard. Definitely a title that will be enjoyed by any true hip-hop fan.” The feature track on the album is ‘Party Up’, which is a medium tempo club song, guaranteed to get any club hopper in the mood to groove. ‘Party Up’ and another track from the album, ‘Get Hype’ have received airtime on US and European radio, which is a definite milestone for any aspiring artist. .... Having worked with Australian talents such as Israel, Vince Harder, Soul Starz, Kyle, Thara and Stan Bravo, it is obvious that KASH are the real deal. Now they are under a fresh new record label, JWalker Records, the boys are knocking on the door of the country, and even the world. And it is looking like the world is poised to let the KASH Boys in.
