    The Jelly Roll Tuba Band is one of Italy’s finest New Orleans Jazzbands. The five musicians, Maurizio Pasqui on trumpet, Alberto Solari on trombone, Klaus Lessmann on clarinet, Andrea Lupi on banjo and Mirko Sonetti on the tuba, are all professional performers, capable to play in other styles as well, but united by the love for the Classic Jazz. Besides playing concerts the group can perform as well as marching band. As you can see from the name of the group, the music of ‘Jelly Roll’ Morton is an important part of the repertoire, that includes compositions linked to other great performers as Louis Armstrong, Kid Ory, Duke Ellington, James P. Johnson and others. Another part of the bandbook is dedicated to the Italian roots of the players with songs from Verdi to Modugno.************************************************************************************************************************ Die Jelly Roll Tuba Band ist eine der besten italienischen New Orleans Jazzbands. Die fuenf Musiker, Maurizio Pasqui an der Trompete, Alberto Solari an der Posaune, Klaus Lessmann an der Klarinette, Andrea Lupi am Banjo und Mirko Sonetti an der Tuba, sind alle Profimusiker mit Erfahrungen auch in anderen Stilen, die sich aber aus Leidenschaft fuer Klassischen Jazz zusammengefunden haben. --Die Gruppe kann in Konzerten, aber - dank ihrer mobilen Instrumentation - auch als Marching Band auftreten. Wie der Name schon anzeigt, ist die Musik von ‘Jelly Roll’ Morton ein wichtiger Teil des Repertoires, in dem sich auch Kompositionen von anderen grossen Musikern wie Louis Armstrong, Kid Ory, Duke Ellington oder James P. Johnson befinden. Die ‘JRTB’ spielt aber auch Stuecke von italienischen Komponisten wie Giuseppe Verdi oder Domenico Modugno .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. Simpatia, genialità, bravura, eccletticità sono le caratteristiche dei cinque componenti della JRTB, che provenienti dalle più svariate esperienze musicali, ma accomunati dalla passione per la musica di New Orleans, hanno pensato di cambiare modo di fare musica ricalcando i gruppi musicali della città del delta: STREET BAND e JAZZ BAND. Ugualmente ai loro predecessori americani, questo gruppo esegue musiche Dixieland (e non solo), facendo particolare riferimento ai "Red Hot Peppers" del grande pianista , compositore ed arrangiatore Ferdinand "Jelly Roll" Morton. Caratteristica principale della JRTB è quella di usare la strada come abituale palcoscenico e come propria audience la gente comune, eseguendo brani di facile ascolto riuscendo così a catturare l'attenzione del pubblico. Il numero ristretto dei componenti permette al gruppo di collocarsi in qualsiasi ambiente all'aperto ed al chiuso, non necessitando di palco ed amplificazione per le sue esibizioni. Quintetto formato da, basso tuba, trombone, clarinetto, banjo e tromba, di lunga esperienza che fa della musica di Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke e gli altri musicisti della città di New Orleans, il suo cavallo di battaglia. Il loro show, prettamente acustico, come nella migliore tradizione di questo genere, si svolge, in genere con una parata seguita da un concerto vero e proprio su un palco.
