Bio:

A lyricist, a composer, a producer and a graphic designer, AMWE stands a multi-talented artist of a new breed.
Winning the Japanese division of the international music contest, “DIESEL:U:MUSIC” in 2009, AMWE made her first series of performances in UK and France. Having joined “DIESEL:U:MUSIC 2009 World Tour” along with such exciting lineups as The Big Pink, Breakbot and Annie Mac, AMWE’s grabbed much attention of various types of media in EU. Upon her return from the world tour, she performed at major festivals in Japan as “Summer Sonic” and “Wire”.
French fashion/music label Kitsuné reached AMWE through MySpace and invited her to join the compilation “Kitsuné Maison 8”, which is celebrated for having featured Digitalism, La Roux and Phoenix in the past. AMWE’s “Friction Between The Lovers” was the first Japanese-lyric track featured on the compilation series, which attracted further attention by French media. One of the best-known fashion magazines in France, JALOUSE, picked up AMWE in their “Tokyo culture” feature, describing dubbing her “the new pop icon”. In Japan, Elle Japon picked AMWE as one of 300 Elle-selected key persons along with M.I.A. and Lady Gaga.
This would stimulate more interest in her, and remix offers from Pop Levi, Hearts Revolution, Golden Bug and more lined up.
In September 2009, AMWE released her first album “I AM AMWE” (Synca/Third-Ear JPN Ltd.), which came out in EU including bonus tracks later in 2010. A 12” titled “Bangin' The Drum Remixes EP” (Jetset Rec. [JP]) and a limited 7” “Birth/ Friction Between The Lovers (Pure Groove Rec. [UK]) followed the album. As 2010 began, Walt Disney Rec. featured AMWE on a compilation album “House Disney -Electro Parade-“ with her cover of “Part of Your World [The Little Mermaid]”. iTunes Japan selected AMWE as one of the most buzzed new artists in “Sound Of Japan 2010”.
During the spring and summer, she spent most of her time in the studio, which reached fruition with her much-anticipated second long player titled “GIRLS”. She included Blur’s “Girls & Boys” (which Thom Yorke confessed to having wished he’d written himself), Deee-Lite’s seminal “Groove Is In The Heart”, and My Bloody Valentine’s “Only Shallow” all in her electronic manner, with original compositions as the head-banging “Be Stupid” and a girls’ anthem “Girls Night Out”.
Re-emerging on the dancefloor, AMWE leads the riot grrrl movement of the new decade.
Album “GIRLS” is out on September 29th, 2010 in Japan. Worldwide release dates will follow.

Originaire de Nagoya, la jeune AMWE est considérée comme la réponse Japonaise à La Roux, ou à Lady Gaga.
Productrice, performeuse, chanteuse, cette jeune artiste s'est fait une réputation de taille sur Myspace grâce à qui elle gagne le concours Diesel Music, participe au méga festival Summer Sonic ou encore au Wire.
Avant même la sortie de son album aux sonorités electro pop "I Am AMWE", elle trouve sa place dans les magazines Jalouse, Tsugi, le Elle japonais et participe aux plus grandes soirées hype parisiennes (Social Club, le Paris Paris...).
Elle sort un vinyl chez Pure Groove en Angleterre et son titre "Friction" se retrouve sur la dernière compilation Kitsune Maison 8.
Outre sa signature chez Crosslight Global Entertainment en France, elle vient de faire en duo avec Nicola Sirkis la version japonaise du titre d'Indochine "Un Ange A Ma Table" qui sortira sur l'édition japonaise de "La République Des Météors". AMWE a égalment remixé le single d'Indochine pour une sortie en single radio au Japon.
AMWE prépare actuellement un album de reprises et sera en France et en Europe en automne pour la promotion de son album.
L'album « I AM AMWE » sortira donc en édition spéciale cet automne et contiendra 3 titres en bonus :
