On Saturday night, following GA's final ever live show with the full band at Brixton Academy, there will be a special after-show party at nearby JAMM, with a DJ set from Tom and Andy. Tickets are just £10 and you can buy them in advance from here. Should be a belter.
For each gig at an O2 Academy venue on
GA's upcoming UK tour, 8 fans will be chosen to attend the show and
film one tune using a Flip camera from a different perspective in the
venue.
All of the footage will then be edited together to make a
stunning piece of video for that track. The videos will then be posted
to posted online, so that fans can relive the gig and share their
experience using the ultimate live recording.
Each winner will be
given their very own Flip camera, Groove Armada merch and 2 tickets to
the gig. Click your nearest venue below for more info and to enter:
Groove Armada have today revealed that
their forthcoming tours of the UK and Australia will be their last ever
shows as a full live band.
This doesn’t mark an end for the boys
of course - there are big and exciting DJ performance and production
plans for 2011 – but rather the start of a whole new chapter. Confirming
their plans, Andy and Tom said:
"We've crossed and re-crossed
the world with this band and crew. There's no other team like it. With
their help, GA live became the sound of legendary nights from Mount Fuji
to Moscow. It's not often in the spotlight maybe; but ask the people
who have come and filled the tents and surrounded the stages for the
last decade. A massive thanks to all of them, for staying with us on a
journey from Richie Havens to Saint Saviour."
With the UK tour already nearly sold out, you'd better be quick if you want to get tickets to the final shows.
