John 'Galeforce' Gale Live Sound Engineer, Producer, Post Production John has enjoyed a decade long career as a London based sound engineer working regularly in theatre, classical and popular music worlds. He has an ever expanding list of regular artists and ensembles that have called upon his services that have included Amy Winehouse, Florence + The Machine, PJ Harvey, The Coral, Dionne Bromfield, 'The First Lady Of Musical Theatre' Elaine Paige, The BBC Proms Series, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Fairport Convention, Gorillaz Sound Systems, Kano, Natalie Imbruglia and Beverley Knight, to name but a few. John started his career in 1998 touring as a sound technician, where he then went on to read music at University graduating with a 1st Class BMus(Hons) in Music & Sound Recording. He spent a number of years working for London company 'Sound By Design' as a senior engineer, designing and mixing for hundreds of events a year at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Hampton Court Palace and countless theatres across the UK. He left the company to go freelance in 2005 and since then his reputation has carried him across the globe as a highly sought after engineer for a diverse range of productions and genres. John also does a great deal of live sound engineering work for Television and produces in the studio, in addition to producing a number of live albums and DVDs. Most recent highlights this year include the South America and European tours mixing Amy Winehouse & Florence + The Machine, the 40th Anniversary World Tour with Elaine Paige, European Festivals with PJ Harvey, Booka Shade, and production tours with Oasis, Duran Duran, Chicago, and The Decemberists, to name a few. Other highlights include Andrew Lloyd Webber's 60th Birthday Concerts (UK, Scandinavia), BBC's "Thank You For The Music" – a tribute to Abba in Hyde Park, "I Dreamed A Dream" – The Story Of Susan Boyle for ITV, BBC's Jools Holland Show & BBC Top Of The Tops, and recently producing a number of albums and DVD's for British folk-rockers 'Fairport Convention', featuring guest tracks with legends such as Joe Brown (Concert For George) and Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin). -
