2000年夏。詩人・東雄一朗のソロプロジェクトとして誕生。 詩とロックの融合を図るポエトリーロックを標榜。

2001年6月、韓国教科書問題真っ只中にソウルにて計6ヵ所のストリート・ゲリラLIVEを敢行。 直後にオリジナルメンバーが揃い活動を活発化してゆく。
2003年7月、1stアルバム『a Day』を白石かずこ、佐野元春といったビートニクスのバックアップを得ながらリリース。
2005年１月、2ndアルバム『TALK HARD』を発表。 壮大な30分にも及ぶプログレッシヴな組曲が収められたアルバムを以って各方面から確かな評価が寄せられた。

2006年夏、大幅なメンバーチェンジが行われた後、NO WAVEバンドとしての側面がクローズアップされ始める。
2007年４月、台湾の大型ロックフェス『Springscream』に最終日トリで出演。会場を大いに沸かす。 10月にはNYクラブツアーを敢行。オーディエンスとして来場したCMJスタッフからは『THE CLASHとJAMES CHANCEとGANG OF FOURが一緒くたになった感じだ』という日本以上の的確な声も聞こえたほど。

東京にフィルターを掛けストーリーテリングしてゆく毒とユーモアと慈愛に満ちたコトバと過去最強のリズムセクション、 空間的且つ色気のあるギターサウンドを武器に更なるまだ誰も見ぬポエトリーロックの荒野を開拓し続けている。


in summer of 2000, a poet Yuicihiro Azuma mainly formed Flight of Idea advocating "poetry-rock".
in 2001, in the middle of Japan-South Korea textbook-adoption controversy, they had activities including guerrilla live in South Korea and some shows in Tokyo. in autumn of 2003, they released their 1st album "A DAY".
in 2005, they released their 2nd album "TALK HARD" that all of including songs was recorded within 3takes and completely live recordings.they had shows on street through fighting with gangs in Shinjuku and cops in Shibuya.
in December of 2005, they joined "Japan-Europe modern poet festival" as a only one "band" in that festival.
in 2006, they had big member change. The form that is more musical to have exceeded uniting poetry and music activity is criticized as no-wave and postpunk.

In 2007, they went to Taiwan(April) and NYC(October) and had some shows in there.
