    Eva Auad (Eva Maria Awad, born 1982) is a young, soulful singer from The Netherlands. Her music is versatile, transcending strict pop categories, but her melodic and harmonic beauty give her a cross-genre appeal. Drawing on traditions, she looks forward. Eva bases her singing on a Jazzy/ R&B style, with a love for ad lips / improvisation. Eva often uses Beatlesque choirs and melodies that remind the listener of a great variety of musical influences while making it her own. Eva grew up in a creative family environment as the oldest of three children and learned to sing in close harmony with her father and brother already at a young age, performing together on numerous occasions. As a preacher's daughter Eva sang a lot of Gospel music, as well as Beatle- and Beegee songs. She was taught how to play some piano by her mother which helped her to write songs which she started to do from the age of 12, driving her family nuts sometimes rehearsing Mariah carey songs and playing endless versions of her songs on the home keyboard. Eva as a pre-teen began a journey to express the rhapsody swirling in her head. Eva performed solo, in bands, and as half of a duo; sang covers and originals; landed festival bookings and radio gigs, and of course traveled the small club circuit a bit. She was paying dues like any young musician, but still uncertain of her own artistic identity. Auad developed an adventurous style of composition, but found she didn't fit neatly into music industry templates. In 2010, Eva entered the 'Voice of Holland' competition. The jury was stunned at her apparently sudden emergence and artistic maturity: Jurist Roel van Velzen told her, 'Are you even aware of your talent?' Although she did not reach the finals, record companies took notice of this extraordinary audition and she was pursued by several labels. In 2011, Eva was offered to sign with Basta Music by Jeroen van der Schaaf, who discovered Eva via mentioned TV appearance for his label. Recordings started later that year in Amsterdam at KNSM, a small studio owned by JB Meijers (DeDijk/SolomonBurk/CaricevHouten). Eva teamed up with mentioned producer, and also Ken Stringfellow (R.E.M., The Posies, The Disciplines) joined in to assist producing the album. Drums were done by Joost Kroon (Kane, New Cool Collective). They emerged from the sessions with an album that demonstrates Eva has arrived in spectacular fashion. Amid the power ballads, dance floor grooves, and catchy pop confections, they included an authentic pop-tango. Eva Auad's daring debut was released in early March 2012. Eva performed in full band formation on a popular TV talkshow (De Wereld Draait Door), and has multiple positive reviews and live radio appearances On July 7th 2012, Eva was invited by Dutch musical giant De Dijk, to perform as support act, for their concert in De Heineken Music Hall, one of the biggest concert halls in The Netherlands. A major experience in Eva's starting career. Eva has appeared on Stringfellow's Danzig In The Moonlight Album and she joines in occasionally on his Dutch tour dates as guest singer or opening act. Eva has a new album coming out late 2013/start 2014. Ken Stringfellow is currently producing it. It promises to be a fresh step forward in the world of new dance and pop music and will be brought out by Basta Music.
